The pack downloaded I extracted it to my external hard drive and loaded it on my mpc live 2 but when I open the project none of it is loaded in the tracks like melodics just says unused. It loaded the drum kit but thats it. What can I do to make the whole project load like it is on the video? Do I need to extract the files or just copy them into my mpc?

Hi, appreciate the info and effort. I'm having some initial trouble though, with the first few steps! Just a quick thought...for a Foundational Tutorial Video titled "Getting Started", the first steps could go into more detail about the initial download, SD Card saving, distinguishing between 'Documents' and WAV files, and which are needed, and where they are stored, etc.... There's a critical lot missing, it seems. The tutorial simply assumes that Beginners (those just 'Getting Started') can perform the multi-step download/storage/drive access/program loading/etc. processes just as proficiently. That's not the case. The Host/Instructor does ALL of that from 1:35 to 2:12....literally 37 seconds to cover CRITICAL pieces needed to even start.

I agree. Seems like it should be simple enough to get the file from my computer to my ssd drive but no such luck. I downloaded the file. Have it on my laptop. Live ii connected to my computer in controller mode and no information on how to get a project file to export to the Live ii in controller mode. I'm an hour in and completely frustrated before I've even started...smh. In case youre wondering I have exported expansions to my stand alone unit with no problem, the process in not the same. wtf

All my drum samples are loaded on to the pads but none of the tracks exist and nothing is named like it is in the video except the actual drum kit.

I HAVE DONE IT. Just thought i would post this again... For anyone that wants to know I managed to bypass the missing file issues. In short it requires you to load their software (that is provided by Akai) on your computer, then load the programme (from the link they provide in the bio), make sure your MPC is connected to your computer and fire up the software on your computer. Cut and paste or load the programme onto the app and that should mirror the details on your MPC. You will have some tracks missing/not labelled but they are there (you just have to look for them). Save the file on your MPC and not your software (you could turn it off at this point). You will be able to follow most of the tutorial, as I did. Let me know if it works for you

Hey guys (and gals)- I was having the same problem- track wouldn't load "Unused" missing files.. I just updated my firmware from 2.7 (which it came with from the store), to 2.10, and now the track opens and works perfectly

@@marlowhadnot I love it. I also got tye ONE to travel with. Coming from FL studio it was super intuitive. I made my first beat after about 2 hours of using it. I'm still learning things because there's so much this thing does, but I can honestly say I have no complaints whatsoever with the X or the ONE. I would highly recommend any of their newer standalones. They're basically a DAW, midi controller and audio interface all in one. For everything these things do, I think they're all underpriced, especially the ONE. But I'm not complaining. I also got the Roland JDXI synth, the Yamaha MG10XU mixer, the MAudio BX8 studio monitors, and the Audio Technica AT4050 mic. Haven't really messed with recording with the mic yet but I did test it to make sure it works and that test sounded great. All the other items I mentioned are also great. Anyway, I know you didn't ask about all my other stuff but I wanted to give a little context on what I'm using with it. None of the beats on my channel were made with the X as I still have about 2 months worth of FL studio beats I made to post. Lol But I can say the beats I've been making on the X are 1000 times better than the ones I made in FL. To be fair though, all I had at the time was an old laptop and a cheap AlesisVmini MIDI Keyboard. So the lack of proper monitors and an interface probably played a part in that. So I'm not really bashing FL studio. It was great for getting me back into making music again. I was just starting to feel like a robot making music, even with the midi keyboard. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Anyway, if you have any, more specific, questions to find out if it will suit your needs, I'll do my best to answer. But like I said I'm still learning myself. But the basics are definitely super easy to pick up. It's mostly the advanced menu diving stuff I'm not so familiar with yet. What's nice about the X and the ONE is there's a lot less menu diving than on the live or live two because nthe ONE and X has a lot of dedicated buttons that take you where you need to go. But there still is some.

Would it be possible, in a future software update, to add the ability to play your first layer on the pads, then hit a button (perhaps play?), auto-adjusting the bpm and loop to what you just played, so you can then overdub the rest of the beat as normal without having to use a metronome in front of an audience? Having to play the first layer to a preset bpm doesn't feel natural.

Noticed they have the same bug in the MPC X, when he illustrated the keyboard to rename a track, none of the special characters are displayed.. & # etc...they are greyed out as before, I wonder if they will vere fix that bug

After the download, I put the files onto an sd card, then try to import the files from the sd but I get a message saying “warning uploading these files will replace everything in the memory”.

stupid question - when I switch to my bass track and press the keys, I am always two or more octaves lower than what is shown in the video. How can I fix this?

I believe this has to do with the key in which you have set. Look up how to change the key, type of scale, chord settings.

Hi how r u I been using Mpc 6p the first week it came out , I have all of them.I think the 4000 has the fast workflow . I can load a folder & keep on adding sound on board & keep on adding folder up to 512m sound on board & still go back to first folder I loaded.And layer sound u can put 4 sound on a pad & asign each sound to individual out put.The work flow on the 4000 is much faster than all the Mpc even the new ones.The 4000 had 10 outputs.I think the new Mpc have 16 out puts or 24 out puts,to make the work flow faster.It could cable with 16 or 24 out put just like midi but it would be Audi individual out numbering 1 to 16 or 1 to 24 & if I want use a tump drive I could do that. I think we need at least 16 audio outputs to make the work flow faster. I think u guys go and revisit the Mpc 4000 it is the best Mpc and take a some idea from it I really love my Mpc’s .i have made Lois of hit records from them not the new ones yet
