They can still be had reasonably. Just picked up a minty one for $500 on Letgo a few months ago. The best bet however is finding one that has a voice or two gone bad. They sell for pennies on the dollar, and the fix is quite easy and cheap. In fact, it is absolutely thrilling to resurrect one using the many videos showing how to fix the voices (if they are the problem). When you work on one, and fix it, the music that comes from it is that much more satisfying. Be diligent on Craigs and Letgo type formats. If you find a 106, or any other vintage synth, try to get its story. I’ve done so a few times and it becomes a fascinating journey reaching out to the lineage of previous owners, and sometimes hearing the actual music the synth was used for. It creates a mojo that will affect how you play it. Cheers

That bassline from the AlphaJuno. Deep yet subtile but in no way overruling the kick from the 909. Do you use some sound processing in this video or is it all fed "naturally" into the mixer and out? @joris voorn
@blurryyyy4 жыл бұрын
Are you making patterns of the 909 on the MPC and trigger from there? Is it possible? I just got my MPC ONE and this is what I always wanted for my 909. To be able to save patterns like this and have real sound from the machine.
@madiscience4 жыл бұрын
blurryyyy definitely possible and quite easy to do that
@phillong58084 жыл бұрын
Yea will work, the midi note number should line up with the kick drum and so forth across all the different drum sounds. If the midi note number's are not in sequence you might have to re assign them then save the system parameters.
