Nice build. One thing is that you can use shorter cable chains if you mount the fixed end near the middle of the axis travel. As it is, about half of the chain never moves. Something to keep in mind if you decide to enlarge the machine as you hinted at.

Yeah I thought about doing that but since I had so much extra I decided I would rather have a path for my wires all the way to the controller to keep it clean looking.

This is a good video. I would suggest you take a dremel to the corners of those aluminum L brackets sitting out there. Seems like a cut hazard...

Hey, thanks for the video on setup, challenges, and cost. You can easily remove links from the cable chains to shorten them. But what in the world... 1:27, 2:33...cutting and drilling aluminum on carpet with no catch??

How did you wired your emergency stop? I was told that apart from switching the power coming from power supply unit so it can be used to switch on and off, it also need to be connected to the controller. Is that true? If so, how is that done?

I actually decided not to wire up the dual endstops because my firmware wasn’t set up for it. You also need the wiring kit for it, which I don’t have currently. Make sure to contact Ryan and see if your board is set up for it.

@@HutchinsRacing Hrmm - yeah I guess it might not be as necessary as I think? I have a Rambo 1.4 flashed with the right firmware for it but are there certain kinds that can't? Gonna fuss more with it tonight - I appreciate you sharing your project as a reference, documentation seems to break down past the physical building parts.

@@jeffginger No prob! Dual endstops aren’t necessary. They help the machine compensate for not being completely square but if you built it correct you shouldn’t have to worry about it too much. I have Rambo 1.4 also but it’s not flashed for dual endstops because I didn’t select that option when I bought the kit.

@@HutchinsRacing I ran to similar question as I was not sure if my firmware was setup for dual stop or not. From the V1 forum, I learned that the infor screen for the firmware will show if you have one or not. My firmware infor screen showned "V1CNC 513D" which I guess the D is for dual end stops. I have mangaged to set it up but sometimes I get the jam but it now works consistently I guess.
