The site for this layout design is somewhat awkward and definitely a little too small for the type of layout the customer wanted. Nevertheless, let's see what I can come up with for his train room.

The way you always manage to get a quality railroad out of a cramped space that has more than its share of awkward protrusions, never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you, Peter for another excellent plan and thoughts. I love the way you used the helix to gain the elevation you needed for the trestle and the paper company, I dont think I would have thought of that.

Since the layout has two reverse tracks it can be used as a continuos running loop, not a circle but a loop to loop kind of layout, very nice.

I too like the choice of a papermill for that awkward space, and the way you've put the various pieces of it together. What's the vertical separation between levels (thinking of viewing sight lines)?

Your interactive way of working with your design clients usually produces wonderful layouts. Small spaces are a challenge, but this is a wonderful design for that space. So many things to do. I like switching myself, and this layout has tons of it! Passenger fans will complain, but the cilent's opinion is foremost!

I can't say I'm a fan of squeezing as much track as possible into a given space, but that being said you've done a nice job of keeping it tidy.

Excellent task management on the space Peter some rooms its hard to do ... I need to knock out more walls myself or come up with some ideas to make 3 or 4 levels happen

Susquehanna River... interesting. I live near the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The world famous Rockville Bridge crosses the river here. The enormous former PRR Enola Yard (busiest yard in the world in 1956) is set on the Western bank of the Susquehanna. Much more railroad interest in this area, but I'll stop here.

How much do you charge for a layout desig?, I'm starting a brand new roughly 10x18ft layout with a single entry point and have zero experience designing a full size layout.

peter, much love and respect for your work but this is just too croweded for me. there is a point where you have too much scenery happening and not enough railroad ....

Interesting. I don't see where you are coming from, as other comments have said just the opposite.
