Hi Martin Amazing Extreme album sleeve..very unique design. I need to hear those Prince accoustic recordings. I like Matt Berry, i think that album is his folksy release?..may look at getting that anniversary release. Vinyls Martin?..tut tut!!..lol!!😂😂😂.. Picture discs sadly are of questionable quality..i got the Hunky Dory pic disc and it was virtually unplayable. Some nice finds.

Thanks Rob, Yeah, The Truth is definitely worth checking out, some of the tracks are quite heavily overdubbed but some are very stripped back just Prince and guitar. The Matt Berry album is sort of a half way house between his earlier folksy work and his later more prog stuff. Picture discs are a lot better than they used to be but can still be very dodgy, I only ever get one if it’s the only type available or if I’m being completist.

keep making vidoes :) , I wish I had the money to buy more vinyl , my health is great , so its not be high up on my list of things to buy but once or if I get better , I hope to buy a new vinyl player also

Hi Martin, I see why the Extreme album was so expensive, very lavish artwork. As a near-completist with Matt Berry, I got the Acid Jazz version with 7" even though I already have the album twice! I think the bonus disk stands-up well on its own though. I have Janelle Monae's other albums but wasn't tempted this time - is it any good? Cheers Dale

Hi Dale, if I hadn’t already pre-ordered the Matt Berry through ASOV I would have gone for the Acid Jazz version but wasn’t bothered enough about the 7” to want to cancel and I’d rather ASOV got my money. I haven’t listened to the Janelle Monae yet.

Two things: One i’m really annoyed at Matt Berry for releasing the come bottle green edition of “kill the wolf” a year or so ago, then releasing this edition (which is much more interesting) now with the bonus material on it, so on principal won’t be getting it! And two I know what you mean about the only vinyl of artists being a pic disc! This happened recently with someone i’m following called Nurse With Wound only releasing “The Sylvie And Babs High Thigh companion” album on pic disc only! Would’ve love to have had that on black or coloured as 80’s originals go for astronomical amounts these days!! Good video keep up the good work!!!!

I was tempted to give the Matt Berry a miss for the same reason but the fact that it has all the extra material plus that it’s pretty swayed me.

Do you use Discogs at all Martin? I’m somewhat OCD with it and have to log all my pick ups there soon as I get them, there’s been a fair few lately where I’ve had to add the database entry myself as nobody has gotten round to doing it before me. Anyhoo, if you’re on there let me know your username and I’ll give you a follow, if only to keep track of all the multiple variants of Lottery Winners and Sophie Ellis Bextor! 😉

I do use Discogs, practically everything is catalogued apart from the odd bit that’s not on there, I did add a few things to the database but it’s such a faff that I don’t bother anymore. I’m mpharris on there.
