It's hard to follow all dreams to follow dreams when your married. Cause in some situations you need to compromise. You can't make some decisions alone. Unlike when you single. Not to say you can't achieve your dreams cays of marriage. It's a bit tricky compared to single people .

I think people these days get married for the wrong reasons , like pressure from friends and society. I got married at 21 and my husband was 24 at the time, we’re now 7 years in with 2 kids(a boy and a girl). Honestly I would definitely do it again and it’s funny because we only dated for 6 months and boom 🤯 the ring, lobola, wedding, I didn’t even know if I wanted marriage or anything serious, but I knew I wanted to be with this guy everyday of my life. The most important thing is that God is everything in our marriage, and I know we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him.🌸

Hi guy's, great topic. Great to have you again.....My X Fiance paid Lobola for me at the same age "22 years" we delayed getting married and i thank God for that. It was the best decision ever as we both were working in silo and not as a team and not as 1, not like a couple who is ready for marriage. We have a 7 year old Son and his Dad is not present at all, him not being present in our Son's life was the same way he was not present in our relationship as years progressed and it became worse when i fell preg. Marrying him would have been the biggest mistake of my life, glad things ended....not everyone has good intentions by quickly paying Lobola. It warms my heart hearing you guys say you would do it over and over again, God bless...love you guys!

One thing I've had from many Mmamoruti is that men are chilled and they don't really care. If you do the wife duties while you are a girlfriend, they don't see a need to make you a wife officially. That's something from your relationship. Steve Harvey says, 'One thing about us men, if we want something we gonna do everything to get it. Give us tjose principles. Ladies have those boundaries otherwise you will be a wife whilst you are a girlfriend in the eyes of everyone including God.'

Beautiful conversation. If it works when you're young it is absolutely great! If it doesn't, it becomes a mess... because when you're young, you have not fully discovered yourself. When you're older you can easily identify what you want from a partner & union. Ultimately, at whatever age marriage works when God is the core of that union.
@Munzhe
@Munzhe 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. One evolves as they grow older. If you marry young you should just be willing to commit to a person's growth because some partners mistaken evolving for changing.

I definitely resonate with Mpoomy where she says had she gotten married at the peak of her career she would not have done well in a relationship.It is much easier to accept and be open minded when you are also at your starting point, less pride.And what is more beautiful than to be there from the beginning and watching your partner grow with you professionally .

From the Christian point of view, in 1 Corinthians 7:9 "But if you cannot restrain your desires go ahead and marry, it is better to marry than to burn with passion". This word to me means if I am not married I should not fulfill my fleshy desires. I will qualify to fulfill those desires if I am married.

Honestly y'all are so lucky and blessed. I would've loved to get married young. At 28, I've had my fair share of struggles and pain when pertaining to relationships. I think marrying young, if it be the right person , saves you from so much pain and heartache and sometimes brokeness that you can never fully recover from. There are people out there who have horrible intentions, people who are wolves in sheeps clothing! The older you get, the worse it is and the more deceptive people you come across. I would encourage people to marry young and grow together with your spouse .. .
@eugeniyah8078
@eugeniyah8078 3 жыл бұрын
I get where you're coming from. Even though it's beautiful to marry young to grow in life and in love together as a team, it's also beautiful to marry later on in life as the more time you spend getting to know yourself, loving yourself, spending time with The Most High and figuring out and pursuing your purpose, the more clarity you receive when it comes to discerning the right person for you and getting marriage right the first time you do it. Because you know who you are, you automatically know who fits you and your purpose in life. Either way, the goal should be to marry right, regardless of the age.

Me too. I'm 31, and only this year I'm starting to get clarity about what I want in a partner. I am also more self-aware now and more assertive. I am also more observant of other people and their personalities which will help me decide if that person is for me or not. I remember at 29, i desperately wanted to get married, but God said nope. Had such fun listening to this. I am 2 years into a new marriage and I am only 28, so I also married young'ish' at 26. I definitely echo what you say, rather build the career when you have the support system so you first learn how to sacrifice before pursuing your own interests. Sacrifice is important for someone who wants to get married as the two individuals are like two diaries that sometimes have clashing schedules and sacrifices have to be made on both ends. You learn an important lesson that transcends through your work and business. You go further when you go with a rigid support system than doing it alone and I learnt that.

the red flags in dating get magnified to bigger ones in marriage... you need to learn to love yourself so you are not pouring from an empty cup.. do not rely on your significant other to give you the happiness you want, give yourself that happiness and allow them to complement it, then you will be even happier.. being married is challenging but also quite fulfilling, you need to constantly work on yourselves to make it work for each other.

The issue of having a career is so true. I'm 26 and from personal experience, it's not easy to juggle a professional, demanding career and a relationship at the same time. Indeed your career becomes a baby and sacrifices are needed to save the relationship. It's worth it if you aspire for marriage and prayed to God about it. Loved this video!

I kept on rewinding back to what Brenden said about the tipping point where each person in the marriage is constantly dying to self and seeking to fill their partner… when selflessness aligns 🙌🏽 That was so profound.

Wow! I loved that perspective on your careers, I see myself in Mpoomy and I can relate to how you needed to find Brenden young because you would’ve had laser focus on your career and in turn missed the love train😂 I’m 20 and I can totally see myself doing that.

I would definitely do it again, got married at 23. The reasons, still stand to day! I got to learn a lot of my strengths and weaknesses. But the most amazing point, was learning of the issues I never dealt with and I got triggered million times but shuuu, I got to deal with stuff and would recommend therapy and affirmation ... I was so much like Brenden🤣🙆‍♀️but my point is 🤭 I would do it again and again! By the way! In my dream world, I'm Mpoomy ❤️... I love you guys, so much. I pray that God continues using you guys for such times as this ❤️❤️❤️

I definitely agree that y’all did get married young but it’s also amazing to witness how both Mpoomy & Brendan have matured individually & as a couple with God being the center of it all as it is he that put you guys together, and it’s such a blessing to witness & look up to you both as young people who want a godly relationship. Nibusisekile guys & have blessed us as well ❤️✨

I love how I stumbled across this video just when my boyfriend and I are talking about this. I've always had my reservations on this topic and part of it was that your 20s are your selfish years, you should be using that time to learn/develop yourself, build for the future and that getting married would mean a lot of sacrifices and putting it on hold if not entirely forgetting about the commitment to yourself. This episode has definitely opened my eyes, it was very insightful...However, I still do wonder though, how would it work? For example, say I marry now at 21 then I get presented with a lifetime opportunity that I've been longing for.. to go work overseas and maybe my husband can't come with me, what would that mean for us, how would we go about that? I also do understand that this could be subjective since you know there's different strokes for different folks...but I'd really love to hear how you would go about that
