@Girl On A Quest remember that they are often flown manually by people and you also have the wind to consider, full size passenger jets have tail strikes at a surprising regularity, i guarantee these have many more tail strikes.

@Girl On A Quest its been chosen because of handling characteristics, conventional tails, v tails and inverted v tails all behave differently and produce different yaw and roll behaviour when the control surfaces deflect but its definitely the most vulnerable out of all the tail designs when it comes to take off and landing and requires them to be very 'flat' and pretty much prevents flaring on landing which increases touchdown speed. They do look cool though :)

Do the military ones like this have an orange light under the right wing? We live NNE of Fort Carson. I was out with dogs and 2 shapes(9pm Feb1,2021) with bright orange lights went over the house towards Ft. Carson. I saw one before when that unit was 1st stationed here. Has anyone seen one of these flying over at night? We also have Peterson and Shriver Air Force bases here.

I see some kind of drone (likely this one donated to border patrol) every single night there isn't really bad weather where I live. Often about 3 or 4 am. It patrols the lake shore as Canada is across the lake. I'm just bothered by the fact that this is apparently secret as I can't find any information on it whatsoever. I'm currently digging to see if I can photograph it somehow but it might be tough.

One of these flew just over the tree tops years ago one day while I was swimming in a family friend’s pool (alone) in 2020. This is the exact drone I saw, except it was solid black. The thing flew right over the pool I was in.. The only thing I can think of is, I might be on some kinda of nsa watch list 🤷‍♂️.. I'm right outside of a major nsa hub outside of “now Ft Eisenhower”. I once had contact with a head 3% militia-man who was one of the heads of a large SE chapter. After almost a year then I cut contact with him once finding out he had many visits from govt branches knocking at his door.. I’m still convienced they were flying over that day to get a visual on me. Hands-down this is what I saw
