They should give her a job with the police just notifying next of kin of the deaths of their dear ones, a job all normal people haven't the heart for and utterly dread. And hide the matches from her. I wonder if the Mrs. North character was at all influenced by the character portrayed by Gracie Allen in the Burns and Allen shows.

Gracie DID play "Pam North" in a 1942 movie (with William Post Jr. as "Jerry"), but the characters were created by Richard and Frances Lockridge for a series of magazine stories that eventually became lighthearted crime dramas- and a radio series.
