It is amazing how well the show was crafted- after all, the characters are just fictive, not real people. I love your content!

Carrie was rather a fearful avoidant than an anxiously attached, given how she behaved around Aidan. And the moment she felt secure with Big (i.e. after they got married), her more avodant tendencies showed. But yes, they had this anxious-avoidant dynamics anyway. I like your take because so many creators seem to miss the point. Big committed to Natasha and not to Carrie because she was what he was supposed to want, and she did not pose any threat to him. He loved Carrie, which is precisely why he behaved this way - because she triggered his fear of emotional intimacy. She has many qualities he lacked and likely wanted for himself - she was spontaneous, carefree at times, emotional and caring. The thing is, they wouldn't end together because none of them was willing to work on themselves and the relationship. Big would have kept her around until she'd be tired enough to get rid of him for good. This is not to say that the anxious-avoidant dynamics can't work - it totally can, but it requires work and very likely - therapy

As a neurotic I totally identify with Carrie. Big - love, lust or addiction or all of them? Big had daddy issues too. Carrie did Not love Aidan. And he only loved his fantasy of her.
