Such a good drummer, Pat really was amazing with his craft and even more so, his humanity. Back in 1989, I got to meet Pat and Eric Carr (KISS) as an aspiring young drummer in L.A. when I was 18 - something I will never forget and forever be inspired by.

I'm deeply saddened! Been playing drums for most of my life, and Pat was one of my favorite drummers of all time. He was such an underrated drummer, and a very nice & humble person. I sent him an email, once, asking if he was on a Steve Lukather video many years ago. I didn't expect to hear back from him, but, he replied almost immediately! He was very courteous and gracious, just like I'd known him all my life. R.I.P Pat

Grew up listening to Mr. Big… Pat was an incredible likeable musician… I’m sure he is missed so so much by everyone that was close to him… Very sad… As I tell my boys it doesn’t seem fair this whole death thing sometimes...and especially an illness or sickness that takes someone way too early. I speechless! I have a Parkinson disease too, but no one said to me that I could die because of complications! I mean i have tremor in my right leg i got depression some time but that's it.I was diagnosed in 2009 ,now i'm 46 years old. What went wrong to him? Anyway, Rest In Peace Pat Torpey. What a sad loss.

Sorry to hear about your condition. The news about Pat's death shocked me as well because he looked pretty healthy in his recent videos. While no one has confirmed about which complication that led to his death, the most common are aspiration pneumonia (due to difficulty of swallowing) and falling (due to loss of balance). Don't get stressed over it. Most people live long after their initial Parkinson diagnosis (i.e Muhammad Ali) so keep your spirit up! I hope you live the rest of your live healthy and happy.
