Both very good sports. Hudson and Halls had been real life partners for years but Peter Hudson died of cancer in 1992 and David Halls who was grief stricken committed suicide the following year. RIP both.

That’s so sad 😢 yeah, I researched it and that was in 1992. I know that most of the blobby episodes were from the ~80s/90s. But for some reason I thought this one was newer. Don’t know why. But anyways, that’s really sad. 😮 (maybe) even more if this might have been their final appearance together on tv.

This must have been one of Hudson and Halls' final appearances together as Mr Blobby started in 1992.

I remember when this Gotcha aired, one of them had actually died since the prank was recorded and the other appeared for what would be his last TV appearance.

These two were way ahead of their time with a cooking show and the camp humour. Clary, Norton etc are just followers of this formula. The thing was, as young lad watching the show, I simply had no idea they were gay. But it turns out most of the sausage sizzling and meat handling was reserved for well after taping.

When was this filmed? It must of been before September 1992 because Hudson died then.

wow. this is amazing. I can't figure it out. Is the language deliberately homo-erotic? Is it unscripted (to a certain degree?). I'd say Mr Blobby was holding back in this one haha

+SchlargNoise Hudson and Halls were known for their innuendo and their "nudge nudge wink wink" relationship so most likely international! :)

I find every once in awhile you find an Englishman with a really stereotypical accent..
