“Now I’m out on my porch, hiding under a tarp … But I’m hearing her sound, and she’s touching her … Harp, now! Na-o-mi is call-ing me 😎❤️🌹! …” Absolute genius, to envision “Mr. Brightside” arranged for harp - it really works ❤️! Bravo, once again, Naomi! Not just the technical ability, but knowing WHAT to play is what makes your artistry so engaging (even when it’s tongue-in-cheek 😋)! 😘

"Mr Brightside" Coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine Gotta, gotta be down, because I want it all It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I'm falling asleep and she's calling a cab While he's having a smoke and she's taking a drag Now they're going to bed and my stomach is sick And it's all in my head, but she's touching his Chest now, he takes off her Dress now, let me go And I just can't look, it's killing me They're taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies, choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay, destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes, 'cause I'm Mr. Brightside I'm coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine Gotta, gotta be down, because I want it all It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I'm falling asleep and she's calling a cab While he's having a smoke and she's taking a drag Now they're going to bed and my stomach is sick And it's all in my head, but she's touching his Chest now, he takes off her Dress now, let me go 'Cause I just can't look, it's killing me They're taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies, choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay, destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes, 'cause I'm Mr. Brightside I never... waking up to this reminds me of when i was a kid and going off to school with the music of the Beatles and Mendelssohn - is there any kind of music that is your favorite the first thing in the morning? - it really sets the mood for the entire day, if you're lucky - so nice, Naomi! - btw I love that logo drawing - just about the way I feel right now -
@NaomiSV4 ай бұрын
I don’t have a usual morning song, but these days I’m listening to the new Nick Cave album nonstop! When I was in high school, my alarm was my CD player. Radiohead’s The Bends marked the end of high school for me, and I feel nostalgic whenever I listen to it. (The CD was damaged and skipped around, and it was only years later that I realized the glitches weren’t part of Radiohead’s creative choices.)
@michaelmccoy-z7g4 ай бұрын
@@NaomiSV haha - I had an old Beatles vinyl record where one of the songs had a scratch at the beginning that I caused- it was the same rhythm and was a great intro and now I find myself thinking I made the song better - no ego problem here - but isn't it nice to have music lead us into the day? -

This was beautiful. I noticed you play in the middle of the longer strings, but down towards the bottom of the shorter strings. This seems to give the shorter strings more of a pop. Is that intentional, or just the way it's comfortable for you to play? If you played the shorter strings in the middle, do they have a softer attack?

I have a big list of songs I think might sound good! Then I test them out and see which sound best on the harp. Some, like this one, are very last minute decisions, but there are some songs I’ve been wanting to cover for years but either the arrangement still needs work, or I haven’t yet found a visual concept.
