Mr Freeze is unique. He's the most hammy written but ironically the most Comic book accurate 90's Batman villain regarding backstory and motives.
@VegetaLF72 жыл бұрын
Ironically it's the other way around. He was originally just a dude with a freeze gun and that's about it. His backstory was changed for Batman: The Animated Series which gave him the terminally ill wife and falling in a vat of chemicals which froze him (seriously, Gotham, put some lids on your chemical vats!). This revamped background proved so popular that it was adopted as Freeze's official backstory after that, not just in the comics but here and the Arkham games too. It's just one of several things that Batman: The Animated Series contributed to the Batman mythos that forever changed things, even retroactively affecting the comics too.

Oh, he died in absolute shame, seeing his most famous creation, the Dark Knight, candy-flossed into a live-action spinoff film of the '60s Batman TV show (not that that was bad in any way). Look at the crap in this film. Batman and Robin going to live events as their superhero alter-egos, Batman carrying a credit card (!), Robin acting like a whiny bitch, Mr. Freeze telling ice puns left and right, Bane as an expy of Solomon Grundy or the Incredible Hulk, Poison Ivy and her innuendos, Bruce Wayne using his normal voice for both himself and Batman (a la Adam West), campy humor without a sense of fun, Batgirl is Alfred's niece (we all know she's Commissioner Gordon's daughter), Coolio having a cameo as a banker, Mr. Freeze leading a sing-along of "Snow Miser" from The Year Without a Santa Claus when he should be RESCUING HIS FREAKIN' WIFE FROM THE DEAD...you get the idea. The only actor who even tries to make it work is Michael Gough as Alfred, and even then, Alfred doesn't have that much presence in this film.

I love that Freeze just calls Frosty over, monologues in front of him and then tells him to leave. He didn’t ask him to do anything. He didn’t need him for anything. He just wanted someone to listen to him rant. Think about if your Boss did that tomorrow at work.

I like to think that if Arnold ever returned to the military he would torture his enemies by acting out this scene & making them sing.
@khaiphamba59914 жыл бұрын
I knew of Arnold before this movie, but I did not realize that it was him who played Mr. Freeze. For a guy who was known for mostly action movies full of fists and guns, he did an exceptionally great job being an emotional villian. Salute, Arney!

He needs them to power his cryo-suit to keep him at subzero temperatures in order to survive. Without a subzero environment, he'll die. And the billions he was talking about is a "ransom pay" to fund all of the research he needs so to find a cure for his terminally ill wife, whom he put in cryogenic suspension because the level of her illness is VERY advanced.
