Mr. G and Jellybean

1/6/2020: We are so sad to report that Mr. G the goat has died. He lived four good years at Animal Place. We believe he suffered from cancer but because of his age (15+) we opted not to put him through invasive testing.
While Mr. G and Jellybean did separate (Mr. G realized he was a goat and Jellybean found a friend in donkey Jujube), their story will forever live on showcasing the power of friendships.

I literally shed tears from watching this video. Animals have always been capable of deep emotions and bonds of love. I'm so happy that the owners realized that Mr. G needed Jellybean. Love is the most precious of gifts to ever experience. And animals do feel love as well as other emotions. We can learn so much from them if we only just take the time.

I love this story so much. How incredible that these two animals are so close and care for each other. Mr. G. could have died from a broken heart, because he didn't feel like eating anymore. When he sensed that Jelly Bean had arrived, you could see how energy just came back to him. How precious to see them reunited. So true! I visit an animal shelter weekly and among many rescued animals there are a deer and a female goat that follows her around. Every time the deer comes up to the fence to greet us the goat will stay close behind her! :D

I agree that it's childlike in the sense that the inhibitions most adults carry around are not present. The way society shapes us, what's "proper", what's "desired" and all that. A child doesn't have those views imprinted yet and is thus, in my opinion, better able to freely love.

give cows, pigs and other "farm" animals the same treatment as you were happy to see here- Go Vegan and make the right and ethical choice. there are many products and restaurants that offer delicious vegan food. you don't want mother cows to be separated from their calf right after they're born, their horns cut off and many other atrocities. I used to live out in the country. In a cattle field near our house were a donkey and goat that lived in the field with the cows. They were never apart. This reminded me of their amazing friendship.
