I’ve just got the Focus last week, and as a hardcore Leaf fanboy I’ve gotta say the Focus is a simply fantastic head shaver, and it’s one of only two razors I’ve ever used (the 6S being the other) that I can use on both my head and my face without getting any nasty irritation on my neck. So glad I bought one, and it was partly based on watching your previous Focus shaves, so thanks for that Gary. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 👍

Re: the razor clicking…..I’ve found the sharper the blade you put in the Focus, the less clicking you get. Plus if the lather is on the wetter side it seems to help too. I’ve also found the more pressure you use the more likely it is to click. John June recommends trying to shave and NOT have it click, that way you know you’re getting the right combo of angle and pressure. Apparently the click indicates a mistake, rather than it being there to rely on like with a ‘standard’ pivot like the Leaf etc. I’m still learning it too, so let’s see how it goes 😂👍

I guessed as much to be honest. I was somewhat disappointed with this shave in comparison to previous shaves with this razor.

Hi Gary. That's a really great smelling soap. It's not available in the tubs anymore, but you can still get it in the smaller tubes. It smells like Sprite to me. My favorite dome shaver so far is the Schick Injector like Roger Moore used in Live and Let Die. I have a pivoting head razor by One Blade, but I feel more confident with a fixed angle. I'm not as worried about whether I'm pressing too hard while flexing the spring. I'm sure I'd get used to it if I were more consistent with it. Focus makes some nice looking razors.

I was not aware TOBS Lemon & Lime is no longer available in a tub. Thanks for letting me know 👍 My favourite headshaver, by some margin, is the Leaf pivoting head razor. I don't own a schick injector razor yet, but I will definitely add it to my list👍

Nice one Gary, that razor would send me crazy 😂 clicking and turning up 😅 even so it was a good shave mate. You mentioned the Henson, for me I think it’s very very near the top as in my razor selection. I’ve got the blackbird coming this week so I will see what all the fuss is about. Atb Paul

The Blackbird is quite a razor. It is at least compatible to the GC.84 in my opinion. I only use my Henson for the dome. It is a bit too mild for the face for me. Cheers Paul👍

Great shave mate 😁 I have a friend who shave head with a straight razor custom made, he prefer big blade like 8/8 😮looks very scray in my opinion🤯😅

The head pivots and lifts the edge off the skin when you make a mistake and skin creases. As the head keeps clicking something’s not right, I’m certain it’s not your technique, so I would put it down to soap as main issue, paired with the blade. Like yourself I enjoy to feel the edge and know where it is, try a feather, if you have a Kai use one. I have to admit I completely agree that it’s not a great face shaver, great for every other part of the body.

I was quite confused by this shave to be honest. I have used it before and didn't get the issues I had this time. As you say, it has to be the soap, the blade or a combination of both👍
