this was such a cool story. I wonder if Mr. Gozo didn’t have any intention of hurting the little girl, and he only hurt her brother because of what he was gonna do to her. Sure they are. Most predators are patient... spiders literally sit in their webs for days, just waiting on something to land. He's obviously lulling her into a false sense of security. He might not have killed her, or done what her brother intended... and you may be right about taking her to a "magic land" or whatever, but I don't think it would be a happy place... to my knowledge, no one has ever written about a magic land they didn't want to escape from... Alice, Dorothy, Narnia, the labyrinth, Hansel and gretel, etc... the goal is almost always to get home.

I feel as though he wouldn't have harmed her if she went with him, he may have even brought her back, however her brother is a different story because he hurt her regularly, and that in turn hurt Mr Gozo through the power of empathy.

I don't think he is malevolent, per say, perhaps just a bit misguided. I believe Mr. Gozo is some sort of being who tries to free kids from neglectful or abusive situations, and who only hurts those who pose a threat to his kids, like the protagonist's brother. If he were truly evil, he wouldn't have been so patient losing all those games of hide and seek and would probably have moved on to another child after a while, and he didn't have a reason to tell the protagonist how to banish him of his intentions were truly bad. As for why he's returned, I think it's like a sort of "one who got away" kind of situation. A way of reconnecting with the one kid he wasn't able to say. I wouldn't bet on everything being solved by a simple chat, since this is a creepypasta after all, but I do believe that Mr. Gozo is more sympathetic than he lets on.

Honestly, the main character is the bad guy in this. Gozo revealed itself to be a protector. It *begged* the main character not to bring the brother into the game, and the main character makes it pretty clear with their response of "if you find him, he has to go with you" that she knew that her brother wouldn't make it out. She asked Gozo to remove her brother and then blamed him after. I don't think Gozo is *going after* the daughter, like some of these comments are claiming. I think Gozo still cares about the mother and is making himself a 'friend' to the daughter the same way. Mr. Gozo is clearly an otherworldly being with entirely different ideas of life, and these comments are comparing it to a child rapist. Hell, Gozo specifically *tells* the main character that if she tells him to go away a third time he will never appear to her again.
@eochiiii2 жыл бұрын
I don't think the main character is the bad guy per se,, but I can understand why you see her that way. She was like 10 and probably didn't think much of Mr. Gozo taking her brother instead because he always seemed nice to her and she probably thought it would be the same for her brother and he would just bring him back,, which he didn't lmao. Mr. Gozo honestly did her a favor and I hate how some people compare him to a r/pist when in reality the brother was. Mr. Gozo's character was ambiguous in his actions but I lowkey feel like he cared for op, and her shunning him away at the end because she was scared and confused just made him angry because he probably thought she would be grateful for him getting rid of her brother who was bad person in her life. But then again she was a kid and wasn't processing it like that and took the trauma as Mr. Gozo being bad. Mr. Gozo didn't come off all the as way good, I mean he was still trying to take her away but I like to believe he noticed how bad her brother was and felt bad about her life situations and probably wanted to help her or have a friend around since we can clearly see he's an otherworldly being. In my opinion I really liked his character and felt he was genuine and probably didn't want to hurt op but she was still a kid and didn't mean to just give her brother up like that, even though the brother deserved it 🗿.
