Mr. Heater Blue Flame Propane Vent Free heater Review (Pros & Cons Explained)

We've been using the Mr. Heater 30,000 BTU Vent-Free Liquid Propane Radiant Heater for the past 3 years in our 500 sq ft. cabin. We never had to turn it above "2". Even in the dead of winter. We are now moving to a wood buring stove and will keep this on hand for backup.

What would you suggest as the minimum size propane tank for this heater. It will be used to heat my basement when I am working in that area and as back up heat in case of a power failure.

As big as you can handle. 40lb at a minimu, but we always have 2 100lb tanks with a regulator that automatically switches when one is empty.@@katiedotson704

@@kashyappatel5310 That's really hard to say. We have 4 100 lb tanks and we now have a wood burning stove. Before we had the wood stove, a 1oo lb tank would last about 3 weeks in the coldest part of the winter. We are in the Carolinas and live in a 500 sq ft cabin.

I just had thermocouple replaced. Now pilot light flame is jumping verticle sometimes and flaring. It was quiet before but now flow sounds louder and stutters.

There are 120 volt fans available, but I wouldn't waste the money. I had one and never noted any difference. Plus, using this heater as a 'no power emergency' back up heater, during a power outage, it won't work anyway. This heater works great in either the propane or natural gas version.

I used this to heat my 1 car garage. I installed a widow fan to bring in fresh air to keep from high co2 levels. My co2 detector goes from 400ppm to like 2000+ppm in like 5 min after start up on both heater and fan. Thought I had a bad detector but felt dizzy when in garage. Returning this fxcking thing it sucks.

I got one last year don't work ran for 3 hours turn off would not stay on now hang on the wall dead -10 I need it to work now this junk just takeing up space should work out the box but it dont lot people got them tell me the same thing to much mess with the regulator got 4 of the trying get to work just given up on it i want my money back this is junk
