I love early mornings to watch the sunrise! This little thing has a great heat output kzbin.infoUgkxAvrAfikbUEMthp3AZ6iX5FKdiHfzy_RP . I sit in my rocker, warm, and watch the sunrise! It's great for travel as well. Just stow and go. Love this thing! For hunters, I've heard that they also make a little hood so that it focuses the heat a bit more if you have to sit further away. Just a heads up. It's so easy and quick to set up and get going.

great vid, however, it's not called a release valve, it's a thermoelectric valve. when depressed, it opens your gas valve for lighting purposes until enough heat has warmed the thermocoupler , which in turn produces approx 25-35 millivolts which in turn causes the gas valve to remain open.

Right on....I'm trying to get some ideas to heat the cabin in out boat for spring fishing trips This seems like it fits the bill. Hard to keep warm, especially when sitting. Tying knots is just not enough exercise.

Good review, thanks for sharing. I have the single burner in a smaller shack, about half the size of yours and it works well. In a bigger shack though, it takes at least the double topper to keep up. Keep in mind though, that is here in Canada and it is in the -40 degrees (Celsius) with the windchill very often when I am fishing. Great heaters though, I highly recommend!

My pilot light wouldn’t stay lit So I cleaned the the anti-tip over switch (normally open) Then lightly sanded the tip of the thermo coupler then it was back into working order. These little guys are easy to work on

Recently homeless for 2 days in the cold and don't get a place till Jan 01 and I stay in a very cold trailer so I baught this today for 35$ it's sooo good BUT will I get gas from the propane dangers? I usually have it on for like an hour then I can leave if off for 5 hours or so before I need to reheat the trailer It's a medium sized trailer prolly a bit bigger than ur shake , smaller than a garage Should I keep a window open for safety on the fumes ? It's hard cause I wana keep the heat in so I keep all the windows shut , and I'm doing everything else to stay warm (3 blankets & sweaters with a coat) etc The walls of the trailer r basically just a paper thin tin .. so if u can gimme any advice on safety of gas fumes it would help Basically on the package it says not to use it the way u are (or the way I did) but I'm sure they just say that to protect them selves I feel like I used it the same way u did, but then again maybe u leave a bit of an opening for air to Get in... let me know anyone please :( P.s. There is no electricity that's why I require a gas one, plus I'm all out of money after getting enough can food to last me 3 weeks until I get my own apartment , I have 3 propane tanks I am mostly concerned about the gas making me fall asleep and never wake up or something like that.. plus it's scary lol so I stay awake all night and sleep during the day :-/ also it's warmer during the day
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
Jay, I wouldnt recommend falling alseep while using propane. Very dangerous and could cost you your life. Always use this product in a well vented area. Even my ice hut has mesh vents and when it gets warm enough I shut it off or open a door until I need the heat. Stay safe.

@BentRod9 жыл бұрын
+timm2020 I've actually never timed it but I've gone out for over an 8 hour day and hardly went through half a tank. I'll usually go out a few times before I need to refill. It can be kind of a pain lugging around a full tank but it's totally worth it.

Why would you touch it.. of course it's hot.. yeah itll cook your skin right off if you touch it.
@KamalaChameleon Жыл бұрын
You can turn it off early with the control nob, or the tank Valve, or by giving the tank a nudge it'll shut off by itself with tip protection. 5 minutes it's cool to the touch again just like a stove burner.. you can even smoke around it, as long as you don't smell propane it shouldn't be a problem. Of course if the tank ruptures or is sumberged in flames or heat it'll f#$&in explode.. so don't rupture it and keep it away from any house fires and it'll be perfectly safe

I bought one from home depot and the damn thing doesn't fit the propane tank. I was so pissed it's been sitting in my basement corner ever since. I'm going to take it back to home depot and throw it through a window.
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
pan ! you should bring your propane tank with you so you can have a Home Depot employee show you that you're probably wrong.
@pan38398 жыл бұрын
Bent Rod yeah that's the plan. I figured maybe there's some adapter I need for proper assembly. because it truly doesn't fit.
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
pan ! typically these connections are universal. sometimes it's hard to get the threads started. you have to push in while you're turning. and don't forget they're reverse threads so you're turning the opposite way than you're used to.
@jasonpowell25858 жыл бұрын
pan ! FYI the threads are counter-clockwise you turn it left to tighten it in there it should fit I have the same unit that you're talking about I bought it from Home Depot and it fits fine hope that helps you
@pan38398 жыл бұрын
Bent Rod yes you were correct, my apologies for my stupidity. when I tried to assemble it the first time, I was kinda fatigued so I was easily frustrated. but after watching this video, I went back and quickly found I was terribly mistaken. now, it works fine...thanks.

People please don't do what this guy does and use vise grips. Use an adjustable crescent wrench or a 7/8 " open end hand wrench 🔧 so you don't round off the brass nut

Makes me cringe seeing you use the vice grips to tighten it, I just hand tighten mine and it works fine, or get an adjustable wrench
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
vxnova1 that makes no sense.. vice grips > wrench. They open and close allowing you to grip and release. I would not advise hand tightening as that could potentially allow for a leak - Not to mention the dish needs good tension to stand upright or else it falls over. The materials used in both the heater and the propane tank are resilient enough to withstand the on and off friction of the vice grips. It makes me cringe knowing that there's people out there like you who cringe watching people on KZbin videos use common tools.
@vxnova18 жыл бұрын
It's just that the vice grips will round off the corners of the nut eventually, the adjustable wrench won't. this is the type I'm talking about here www.amazon.com/Stanley-90-948-8-Inch-Adjustable-Wrench/dp/B000NIGOBS/ref=sr_1_4?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1485104881&sr=1-4&keywords=Adjustable+wrench
@BentRod8 жыл бұрын
vxnova1 I know what your talking about and I'm kidding of course about the cringing. but my point is Mr Heater didn't use cheap materials on the nut. I've installed it hundreds of times the same way and the nut has only showed minimal wear. In most instances I'd agree with you but the vice grips are more convenient to me. it's a preference. thanks for checking the video out. hope the heater works great for you.
@vxnova18 жыл бұрын
Bent Rod great video by the way, good to know that they hold up well, I was thinking of taking mine ice fishing too (hence watching this video)l if we ever get enough ice here in central wi, There is a bracket with mine too that is supposed to hook onto the tank handle but it doesn't seem to work too well, I don't have any issues with hand tightening mine but it may because you are using it in much colder conditions than I did. I think I'll take the wrench along just as well when ice fishing just in case. I am a little concerned about using it inside a fishing shack though, do you take any co detectors or anything? Or you feel safe enough without?
@LLNewfie7 жыл бұрын
@vxnova1 I have fished in a few huts with these type heaters. I bought one today and will try it out in my Eskimo 3 man tent tomorrow. Not worried about lack of oxygen, I will leave both doors unzipped a little.
