There are still people in the colonial Indian diaspora who still speak Hindustani. This Hindustani is of a older variety than modern day Hindustani in India. This variety of Hindustani is on the verge of language death and Caribbean Hindustani is doing its best to preserve it.

Amazing how we have kept the traditions and culture of Bihar & Uttar Pradesh after being brought as indentured labourers to Trinidad & Guyana in the 1800’s. The language of Bhojpuri has been lost in these two countries unlike Surinam where it is still spoken and called Sarnami Hindustani. Only a few like this lovely elder who would still speak it in Trinidad & Guyana. 🇹🇹❤️

I’m from Surinamese descent as well, but I had no idea that the younger generation knew how to speak it, but yes I agree. Out of the three we know how to speak it still

Few ppl like kamal prasad trinidiad, mauritus pms, indian culture preserve in Fiji and Suriname(ashwin) , chutney music. Visham and samsudeen from carrebian islands...... fijiians across Australia nzl
