Yes, the cultural traditions have been well preserved. Most of the Indo-Surinamese and Indo-Guyanese now live in the US and Canada now, there's actually a larger population of them in US/ Canada than in Suriname and Guyana.

Amazing. Most of the people at the market spoke Hindi. So beautiful. I am Indian origin, US based. My grandfather came from Uttar Pradesh, Ghazipur, Bakhra near Birno. He left in 1888 at age 20 for British Guyana. He left many relatives and never returned. No contacts. I would love to find his relatives.

Mai Suriname desh se hoon. Aur yahaan hum sab sarnami me baat karte hai jisme bhojpuri awadhi hindi dutch aur english hai. Most indians yahaan ate hai to proper research nhin kar ke aate hai. Toh immigration wale se problem hote hai. Yahaan par recently indians aakar problems create karte hai. Jaise suriname ko use karte usa ke jump marne ke liye. Kisiko aana hai toh pooch lena mujse.
