Thanks for making this stuff up and posting. As an old fart of 61 and a lucky purchaser of a 'Cuda from the showroom in '74 at age 21 - I knew all about Norm and have pictures of his place back in the day today in my files. No big deal to see altered wheelbase stuff on the lot next to stock Hemicuda's, Hemi Darts, R/T Coronets on and on. So glad you put the "before" shot at the end so people could see what it was like.

Thanks so much for doing this. I'm 71 years old and the closest I ever came to any of that was to own a new 1969 Road Runner, and to see Grand Spaulding painted on a lot of cars when I went to the Nationals at Raceway Park, which I did many times...

This is the best video I've seen on KZbin. I was born in 1938, went to the Nationals at Raceway Park many times, and lived the era. Even bought a 69 Road Runner, new. Thanks so much.

No tear came to my eye & I don't smell Sunoco 260 but I still enjoyed the clip. As an 18 year old from the 'burbs I had occasion to go to Norms's in '68 & '69 with a friend who bought parts for his AWB '65 Coronet, "The Stalker". F/C bodies hanging from the ceiling, the cage displaying killer motors. But you can't forget places like Nickey, Brigance, Jack Douglas and Jack Loftus, all selling bitchin' cars. People have put the bad rap on Norm, I'd sure like to hear why. Fact, not fiction.

I had the pleasure of owning a beautiful burnt orange dodge charger R/T. 440 six pack. 727 auto trans and Dana 60 rear end. One wicked R/T. I lived in Cedar Lake Indiana. From 1968 till 1975 so I was in and out of that dealership. Many fond memories.

I had a '72 Dodge Demon that I am sorry to say didn't come from Grand Spaulding Dodge. But in Northwest Tennessee we all listened to WLS all the time in the sixties and well into the seventies. I can still repeat the Grand Spaulding Dodge ad word for word...."Dyno times, Sunscoped by Mr. Norm and his team of experts!" Those were the best days! Long live Mr. Norm!

Well, sorry to hear that a Chicago legend has passed away, it's a pity that I never ever checked out the showroom during it's run, but maybe one day on a trip back home, I'll make that & the old Nickey Chevrolet showroom a couple of spots to put in a video blog once we get over Covid!! I can remember hearing both dealers advertising on the radio back in the day, what a throwback to the world we once knew!! However, the history of these dealers is in the book, Lost Muscle Car Dealerships, so all is not lost completely

jeremy priban I've had 2 Hondas: a 94 Gold Wing bike and a 97 Accord. Unlike American cars, sad to say, they don't rust if you have to put them outside, and they don't have an array of weird noises the mechanic can never find. Problem is, parts are horrifically expensive and they gots no soul. I have an 09 Chally R/T (HEMI) and 2010 Sable. The Sable's rusting away already, a plethora of funky noises from the suspension and so help me, a clacking from the air intake now. In addition to the odd clicking from the steering column that no one's been able to track down, nor fix. It's comfy, tho. More than the Challenger. I love the Chally more than any of my exes, but it has been recalled twice! That's never happened in 33 years of driving.
