The right person won the show that year. Everyone says Nasser should've won that year, no way. Dorian beats everyone from the back in two poses. He beats everyone again from the side in the two poses as well. From the front he loses the front double bicep but then wins the lat spread. His front double bicep admittedly is the worst, but he again wins over everyone in every other body part. Abs and thigh, hes good enough to take that too. He has so much thickness, so much density, and so much muscle maturity packed onto his frame he almost looks cartoonish. On top of that he has the best conditioning. He absolutely should've won.

it's not just size, he had the front but never had the back. Washed out and nonexistent glutes and semi washed out hamstrings, washed out back with subpar development. So many people talk about Dillet's and Nasser's backs but Lee's back was 2x worse than the rest of his body. He makes people we call "narrow" look wider than barn doors.

I also remember him telling me even when compared to Dorian Yates. Lee's muscles are just harder. From our perspective Dorian looks the hardest. But It is something you have to feel in person to know. And that is what my friend did.

he had a different physique than most of the lineup and he played to his strengths. Arguably he could've should've tried to come in fuller and bubblier but he had very thin skin and was naturally just lean, so getting shredded opened so many doors for him in terms of the placings. BECAUSE he always lacked that fullness, his physique didn't translate well on cut off pictures and video footage with no objects to compare. That's why Flex Wheeler doesn't look 218 pounds when he's by himself. He looks 250. Then you put him next to Dorian and suddenly he looks that 218 again, because there is simply a larger object to actually compare him against and gauge size.

so it was not only about front double biceps, right? Dorian still took front lat spread, two back poses, side tri and even side chest, He was not overdieted and flat here any more and dominated Nasser in side thickness. 5 pose out of 7 means he is the winner. no controversy here

@@David-es8dy no, that's a fact not only my opinion. bodybuilding contests are not judged by back, legs, biceps or any other bodypart. It's about mandatory poses and rounds. Dorian wins more poses and more rounds. get a clue

@@David-es8dy Dorian beat Nasser from the front AND the side in the majority of the poses. Nasser won the FDB, A&T, SC and front relaxed! Dorian.. FLS, BLS, BDB, ST, and 3/4 quarter turns. With superior conditioning, 7-4 dorian... Nasser looked amazing from the front, shallow from the side, A back that was nowhere to be seen, and mediocre conditioning! Nasser actually pushed dorian in the FLS and we all know that's dorians signature pose but dorian didn't actually win that pose by a landslide (like he usually does) so even if Nasser won that, dorian still wins it 6-5! Simple mathematics!

I agree Lee has the best arms, Paul has the best abdominals and lats, Levrone has the best shoulders, Nasser has the best chest and lines. But the best physique overall, considering volume, density, conditioning and posing was definitly Dorian.

Better quality video. For all the Nasser fans out there that think he won this quality video shows the quality muscle density, maturity. Muscle separation, graininess and dryness that Yates has over everyone else. I think this video shows that Dorians gut wasn’t as large as stated and hell Levrone has a little one going too.

Everyone slams Yates who won the show, yet he didn't have a quart of synthetic in his arms like Nasser did. You can compare Nasser 1996 to Nasser 1997 and you'll see the difference in the hardness and cuts in his arms. That and the film of water he was holding overall as well.

Я десятилетия так думал пока не посмотрел внимательно на эти кадры и индивидуальное позирование, сзади Дориан выигрывает все и у всех, в 1997 его спина стала еще больше без потерь в качестве, добавим сюда широчайшие спереди и трицепс сбоку и по совокупности поз он выигрывает не смотря на рваные руки и беременный живот. Я бы скорее Шон Рею дал, но не Нассеру если уж Дориана наказывать за травмы. А так Ятсу уважение при таких травмах и недостатках его кондиции все равно лучше чем у Эль Сонбати

I agree, yes Naser looks better in the front poses but I called it 3 for Naser, ,standing relaxed, FDB, and abs and thigh. - Dorian took all the back shots. - The side shots could go either way and it’s evident Naser did not Knockout the champ.
