Mr Peter Lee on Peranakan artefacts donated to NUS Baba House by the late philanthropist Agnes Tan

$1.66 million worth of cash and artefact donations helped to sustain Singapore's heritage sector last year. That's nearly half the amount received in 2020. The contributions came from just over 30 individuals and organisations. These patrons have been honoured at the National Heritage Board's Patron of Heritage Awards. Among them is a late philanthropist whose life-long contributions helped deepen appreciation of Peranakan culture in Singapore. Mr Peter Lee, who represents the family of the late Agnes Tan, shared more about the artefacts his aunt donated to the NUS Baba House.

From the miscarriage of the Neptune Orient Lines to the blunders in geopolitics, from the failed GIC investment in the UBS to the inability to boost labour productivity, from the interminable train system breakdowns to the series of HDB lift mishaps, from the Little India riot debacle to outbreaks of diseases, PAP's leadership has been tested and found manifestly deficient. The very last thing that our nation needs is continued one-party rule.
