The dragon balls are made with Namekian magic, we don't know exactly how. When the Dragon Balls are used, they turn into those rocks as they recharge. When Dende revived Shenron the Dragon Balls were restored, as without a guardian they became inert. So those are not just random rocks, they were inactive dragon balls, the same ones the gang has always hunted.

DBZ kind of glosses over it, but Chi-Chi *is* one of the strongest humans alive. Even after years of just being a housewife she is still likely *way* more powerful than Mr. Satan. There's a reason everyone in the cast fears her wrath, and it's only mostly because of Goku.

13:20 No, if you dont get it the rocks were the dragon balls. In OG DB they explained this issue. Basically after making a wish the Dragon Balls are separared and turned to stone for a year before they are ready to be collected again. So basically here those stones were the Dragon balls and because Dende revived Shenron the dragon balls returned to their normal state.

But I prefer to think of it like it's shown here, since it better justifies Android 16's personality, as well as Gero's motivation. And most of Kami's divine intervention throughout his time as guardian would've occurred well before Goku was ever born. unfortunately, no, it's not canon. Gebo's canon cause of death is stated by Toriyama to be by an enemy bullet some time before the fall of the Red Ribbon Army. see: Dragon Ball Cell Arc Vol 3 Q&A but this is WoG, and it's Toryama, so it's not entirely set in stone we might see him change his mind/forget and give a diffrent reason at some point, or even something put into the actual text of the series, but it's pretty unlikely we'll see a revisit of this point in the timeline, so...

To answer your question about Kami, it’s more like the position automatically puts you in the Gods of the Universe’s contact list, and that they’re the Gods representative on their planet, that planet’s God. Kind of like if becoming the Pope actually gave you powers and also a direct line to God. The whole joke with dieties in the Dragon Ball universe is that they’re very business-like in structure/operation and have very little mysticism to them at all once you actually interact with them.

The way the dragon balls work is that there's a set of super dragon balls, able to grant literally any wish, no matter how big and with no consequences, the namekians carved out chunks from them to make regular dragon balls and the statue is more like an interface, so even if the dragon is inactive, the balls will still exist, they just won't activate without a new namekian to wake up the dragon

that scene with Dr. Gero's son is set during a part in OG where kid Goku is making an assault on Muscle Tower, a Red Ribbon Army headquarters, you can even hear Goku charging a Kamehameha before the video cuts out. so that explains why Gero had such an obsession with Goku. it's also totally original animation to DBZA; the cause of death for Gero's son given in-canon later on in the series is considerably less interesting and impactful.

There's 3 Martial Arts tournaments (called World's Martial Arts Championship/Strongest Under The Heavens/ Tenkaichi Budokai) depicted in the original Dragonball series (Pre-Z). These are the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Originally it was going to be 5 years in between each tournament, but Toriyama changed his mind and made it 3 after the 21st. After the events of the 23rd they...Stopped holding tournaments on Papaya Island. I assume Mr. Satan won the 24th(?), but I don't blame them for forgetting given the huge time gap (thanks, Piccolo).

Pretty wholesome clip overall. 4- Trunks' remark about these guys living in a world without Dragonballs is meaning that he lived his whole LIFE in a world without Dragonballs. 5- The mini-clip in #16's files is a full original clip made by TFS, to help expand and flesh out 16's own backstory as "Gero's son", a trivia bit that came out years later after the show ended. The date stated in this clip is the same date and time when kid Goku assaulted the Red Ribbon Army's base, cherry topped by Bulma's reaction. 6- If you remember back on Namek; when Guru first passed away, the Namekian Dragonballs turned to stone. That doesn't mean they were stone to begin with, just that is what happens. When Kami and Piccolo fused, the already available Dragonballs scattered across the world also turned into stone in the same manner.

16 was Gero's kid who died in the original red ribbon army base in DB when kid goku blew it up. Gero made an android version of his son.

That video with the Shadow "16" is Actually 16's origin in this version Goku as a Child when he destroyed the Red Ribbon Army ended up Killing him and he's Gero's son....... Meaning he made a mechanical clone of his son to avenge himself by killing Goku

Abridged Dende said he can't make Shenron grant three wishes if they want to still be able to revive multiple people with one wish. In the actual series, Dende does make Shenron grant three wishes, but with the stipulation/limitation that wishing for multiple people to be revived with one wish costs 2 wishes.

Basically Kami didn’t show up until like near the end of og dragon ball and took part in the last tournament to fight piccolo,from that point on he stayed in the Lookout just watching earth,Goku was offered the role but he rejected but yeah even though he was guardian of the earth he did jack squat.

15:30 in dragon ball super he does teleport to bulma while she is walking out of the shower so yes he does eventually have bad timing but it only happens once in the entire series so far
