Happy new year! I don’t have any RC tanks yet, but have been fascinated by them since I was a teenager in the 80’s. I was an avid military model builder in my teens and early adulthood, but inevitably life and work got in the way of my model building hobbies. I have always followed the trends and I find all your videos to be very informative with a lot of great tips. I’m slowly making way through all of your videos and eagerly await each new video. Finally after 40 some years I’m contemplating getting my first RC tank, it will be a Leopard which I hope to do up as a Canadian Leopard 2A6M CAN. Keep up the great work.

Hi! Happy new year to you too! and thank you so much, far too kind and very humbling. I know, i'd spend hours in Betties in the 80's (old model; shop chain) watching tamiya adverts on there VCR! The Canadian leos look very cool with the Maple leaf on the turret, and you can get so much contrast on just green, if you need any help please drop me a line Thanks so much again for saying 'Hi' and watching my vids, you deserve a medal! (some of them go on a bit!)

@@mrtankalotrctankschannel Thanks ! As a 1/35 and 1/48 model kit maker, my first HL tank was the Merkava and surprises me! At this moment its on my workbench for anti-slip coating, details with 3D designs by rctanks and repaint overall. The Abrams arrived later but shows even greater room for improvement than Merkava and Its the pro version. Really like your weathering and detail video series ! Loves your Leopard , Chieftain, T-72 , all of the other ! And really like the quiet moment after work and family to enjoy your content! Go ahead !

DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING! Honestly, I absolutely love your channel….the wackiness, the mistakes and fixes, your approach, your enthusiasm, is what got me into RC tanks. The Leopard series is absolutely awesome….its like sitting next to your mate…..the whole things is only missing a mug of tea and biscuits 😂😂 No, stay exactly as you are doing exactly what you do…..

Happy New Year!! I find the weathering video's helpful. I have been a scale modeller for sometime now mainly 1/35 but have also weathered a couple of 1/16 scale tanks and watching you video's I have learnt a couple of new techniques which I have applied to both scales, so for my 2 cents worth keep them coming and there is nothing boring about your channel, great sense of humor.

Happy new year, Great video as always. I think your weathering videos are great, even better for beginners. My videos are more on the technical upgrades and i recommend your videos for.people trying to weather tanks. The pro version of the bradley for me is the tank of 2023 and I don't even like Bradleys 😂. Anyway to stop waffling would be fun to do a couple of co-lab videos.

Hi Ben! That's far too kind, i do get worried i'm teaching people to suck eggs. I love the electronics you do, really cool, and yes if i can find the time, i'm a self employed musician and i'm all over the place. Most of the modeling is when I've gotten insomnia, so the new lights are going to come in handy! Sorry to hear you had pneumonia, i had that quite bad in my early twenty's, and being a trumpet player, and self employed i made it a hell of a lot worst than it needed to be!. would wish that on my worst enemy, took so long to clear up it gave me anxiety attacks because i still felt like i couldn't breath. Happy new year, and i'm looking forwards to your next projects! very cool!👍👍

This channel is helpful for detailling these 1/16 tanks. I think people will watch videos for the tank they buy. If you are talking to mostly a western audience, you will probably get more views on those tanks. If russians were watching more, you would probably get more T72 video views.
@mrtankalotrctankschannel10 ай бұрын
Hi! That's probably quite a good explanation! and its always less in the summer, guess moddling is more of a winter pastime! Happy new year, and thanks so much for supporting my little channel, means a lot and makes it worthwhile 👍

Happy New Year!! Please continue with weathering vids.. If you haven't already done it, a vid on your preferences for mixing paint/washes would be helpful. I have been inspired to do a digital cammo paint job on my new T-90 by your videos. I have it painted with the base black and am preparing to begin the white highlight process. I have passed on your channel to my local hobby shop the Hobby Centre in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I told you previously about having installed a camera in the T-90. Heng Long makes upgrading really easy. Hope your young fellas eye is better. Best to you and your family in 2024.

Happy new year to you too! and thanks so much, as I've said before my viewer are far to kind to me, and i'm really glad its slightly? helpful, its why i did the channel in the first place. Good luck with the digital camo, if you need any questions answered please drop me a comment, and the new heng long boards are so much better, i'd like to try a FPV on one of my tanks when filming the running, does it work quite easily? My main worry is i'm teaching people to suck eggs, and i don't want to bore the Bananas out of my viewers who are kind enough to watch my nonsense! 🙂 Have a great rest of this week.

Thanks for the reply. The camera is so very easy to use and install. It plugs into CN 5 on the TK 7.0 board. A word of caution though. If the turret has 360 capability, you will likely need another 360 harness to plug the camera into as the current 360 harness' don't have an extra plug-in. To turn the camera on, you press G and S. You will need to have installed the suggested app on your phone or tablet, You will need to search for the associated WiFi network (camera on) with your phone or tablet, It is its own network and you will be off line from your regular provider during use. You can save any video files. But typically videos from phones are short. You do a great job of video editing and your commentary is just fine. Those of us that are following you, appreciate that this is is your hobby that you pursue with passion. The fact that you take the time to prepare these videos and share them speaks to you good character.@@mrtankalotrctankschannel

Interesting Channel! I'm trying to purchase something "decent". From a budget point of view, Armortek are out of scope. Tamiya looks great but at the upper end. Henglong, Taigen , Torro , Mato, Tongde, etc. all seem to be at the "junk" end of the market. Is there a sweet spot for say a Leopard 2A6 or 2A7 with steel running gear (tracks, road wheels, drive sprockets, swing arms even torsion bars), gear box and 360 turret traverse? P.S.: Love the traction engine of the shelf.
@mrtankalotrctankschannel9 ай бұрын
Hi, I wouldn’t discount heng long, tongde is heng long from about 10 years ago in build. Haya is reliable and dimensionally correct. The best heng long I think are the Leo 2 really good Tamiya copy, the top hull and turret with a taigen lower hull would be good, or even the heng long turret on the full taigen lower hull. The taigen panzer 3 is good, and the panthers okay, not too sure about the size of the turret though. Tamiya I personally think have not kept up, a lot of money for less functionability and they don’t even come with bearings. 1/16th is space wise tricky, 1/6th is huge and heavy, and it’s in need of a shed!. Thanks for commenting, and have a great week!

I wouldnt mind seeing a video on radio set up, changing from stock to after market. OpenTx and some sorta sound, mixing and a desent smoke system
@mrtankalotrctankschannel10 ай бұрын
Hi! I've sort of done that 🙂 have a look down at the Elmod for the chieftain, and the heng long smokers, the most important bit i think is the smoker oil. I really want to do one on clarke stuff as its got gun stabilization, so i promise ill get round to doing a few more. Thanks so much for saying 'Hi' and watching my nonsense!! Happy new year 🍾🍾

Happy New Year!Do you buy these yourself,or do Haya,etc,give you the tanks to work your magic on?.I know my Cheify has cost me over a grand so far,and its nowhere near as sophisticated as yours
@mrtankalotrctankschannel10 ай бұрын
Hi! No, i'm just filming my builds, i wouldn't want to have sponsorship from any company, you'd never know if i was reviewing it honestly, and i always divide the cost by hours of fun building and running them, its also good for the brain model making🙂. I love Haya because there base tanks are accurate with the dimensions, and he brings out new stuff, if it wasn't for the Chieftain i probably wouldn't have started this channel. And thanks! its shear luck i managed to get the Elmod right 😂 your going to enjoy having the right sound set, it makes so much difference Have a great rest of this week!.

Why not use Magnets instead of bolts?
@mrtankalotrctankschannel10 ай бұрын
I did think about that, but its quite small the strip, i looked at magnet strips you can get, but they aren't as thin as i'd like, and you'd need quite a powerful one the other side of the plastic to really grab it on when the guns elevating and depressing.
