My engine is still 2.0l home built engine. Garret GTX3071R turbo, lots of other mods both bolt on and complete bespoke/custom done to suspension, brakes, cooling interior etc.. guess it pushes small 500hp but I don't have any numbers.. :)
@HarukanoF20C8 жыл бұрын
You're definitely no where near 500HP at all. I dont mean to be derogatory but a gtx3071r will never flow near that hp on a 2.0L... With that being said, it seems to me your around 350WHP. At the rate your passing the E46 M3 during full boost and other like HP cars such at the S14 , grey STI at 5:20, other like cars... If you were at 500hp you would be FLYING past these cars. But, I will say your MR2 is definitely quick and something I hope mine aspires to be someday! Keep up the good work and I hope to see more videos coming from ya in the future! Especially because the MR2 is a dying breed we need all the high quality videos we can get to remember this little rocket ship ;) Stay safe and keep the boost up mate!

That was a cool vid dude.Nice driving and a fast MR2. I have a 94 JDM GT-S Turbo Rev 3 which is pretty quick.I have owned MR2s continously since 1998 and spent many years driving them on the best roads Japan has to offer. Wish people would stop bitching about "snap oversteer" though. The Japanese had engineered it out with the changes to wheel size and toe in/out settings along with the changes to some of the suspension pickup points and other changes by the 94 model year. Like any well setup sports car it will oversteer when it runs out of grip but that is what counter steer/opposite lock is all about. Better than awful front end scrubbing understeer. If you have some skills it's not a big problem and they are wicked fast on a track like the Ring. He was making big yards on those other cars mainly because his steering /brakes and handling were allowing him to stay on the throttle longer. Well done bud..keep on rockin the Mister 2.

Interesting video. Being that you owned the car for so long, how do you feel about MR oversteer? Are you afraid of it or are avoiding it at any cost? I've driven RWD for 10+ years now and thought of trying aMR platform, but am weary of the MR oversteer on a track...
@norwaymr29 жыл бұрын
+krakri11 My experience after driving my mr2 on trackdays for 14 years is that any other car i put my self in feels like an easy drive :P I did some mods to the steering ten years ago, allowing more turn on the wheels for less turning on the steering wheel, that helped me alot on the "catching up on a snap oversteer issue." You have to correct any tail skids at the moment they appear, you don't have any time to think about your correction. but as far as you don't overshoot too much on your corner speed and use a little time to know your car you could be fine :)the MR driving feeling is just fantastic when you learn to handle it! :D
@OliTayler4 жыл бұрын
@@norwaymr2 Awesome video! Would you be able to go into any detail on the steering mod you did? I would love to reduce the steering ratio on my MR2 for track use, the only way I can see of doing this is a custom rack!
