You are a gift to Spyder owners everywhere. I'm prepping to do a 2zz swap over in North Carolina, and have been poring through your channel for info and your videos are so clearly explained and well done. Thank you so much for taking the time!!

Glad the videos are a help. When I was getting up the nerve to do mine, I was surprised how little there was on You Tube for building the MR2 Spyder.

this is so helpful. my spyder has been needing this procedure for a while now.

Brilliant ! Thank you for this one ! Don't think I'll try to do this myself though, lowering the tank seems a little tricky and I'm not as well equipped as you are to support it.

I tried to swap out the passenger side cable after I completed an oil change. My 2000 Spyder was up on jacks but I could not access the third Bolt holding the gas tank. Too many things in the way how did you get to it? My cable has snapped and actually broken but I'm still unable to get it off the car.
@johncallahan20695 жыл бұрын
So it looked like you did only the passenger side in the video. With the tank lowered on the pass side were you able to do the driver side too?
@StarkReality5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did the driver side as well. There is a little more in the way on that side so the tank does not drop as easy but I got it in there.

ty for this, i am about to replace my ebrake cable as well.

My parking brake is totally busted so this is surprisingly topical. Honestly looks harder than I would've expected, oh well I'm tired of keeping a brick behind my back wheel 😂 (even though I keep it in gear. Gotta be safe)
@StarkReality7 жыл бұрын
It is involved with everything that you have to remove but not overly hard. Not sure what a shop would charge but I am sure it would be a lot.
@r2awes6 жыл бұрын
How long did this take you? I am in MD and without a garage so I need a shop to do it for me.
@StarkReality6 жыл бұрын
You could probably do this in a day. I have the garage luxury so I am usually not in a rush.
@heilong795 жыл бұрын
Can you drop the tank without removing the top lid, I would guess not but I heard if you are only changing the brake lines you dont have to fully drop the tank.
@StarkReality5 жыл бұрын
Maybe? You would be severely limited in how far the tank will drop because of the connector going into the pump. I only did it this way so not sure if it will work.

Did you ever fix your fuel gauge to measure correctly?
@StarkReality7 жыл бұрын
It worked fine after everything I did. Not sure what fixed it or if I was mistaken about the problem but I have learned not to question a good thing.

Did you swap the engine with the handbrake broken?? mines broken and plan ons wapping but havent done the brake yet
@StarkReality6 жыл бұрын
Blubaru AX - Yea they were frozen when I got the car. It was one of the last things I had to do to pass inspection.
@christianherrero93486 жыл бұрын
really dumb question but how did you keep the car from rolling during the swap
@StarkReality6 жыл бұрын
Good question. The front tires did not hold air so they were pretty flat and stayed put pretty good.

Did you get the OEM brake cables?

Hey, is the charcoal canister located at the passenger side or the driver side?
@StarkReality7 жыл бұрын
The Fuel Filter is located on the passenger side of the car.
@avue25937 жыл бұрын
I actually need to replace my charcoal canister. I don't know where it is located.
@StarkReality7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I believe it is behind the drivers seat under the storage area.
@PpRZman5 жыл бұрын
My ebrake cables have seized both rear calipers; so I just don't use the ebrake anymore!

PpRZman I know what you mean. If it was not for the safety inspection I would not have messed with it either.
