I got NOASB overall by a smidge. I loved the writing on those arrangements. Really challenges the mental aspect of the horn. Looks like they had a lot of kids marching this day too. MMB's arrangements are nice as a mf too though, don't trip. And they have that 'punch'. That Say Yes was *chef's kiss*. They both cold af. 🥶

I got MMB with a slight edge. Arrangements were better, had MMB executed them better they would be the clear winner. NOLA is extremely powerful. This would have went the other way in NOLA. Overall this battle just wasn’t giving the energy everyone expected, definitely a MID Battle. We’ll see how the GAMB vs NOLA battle goes. S/O to MMB & NOLA 🎺

Memphis easily more complete band, both bands sounded great overall and improved compared to lesser years, Nola will sound amazing but then Memphis will sound amazing with a more full trombone break, crazier more present tuba chords, and better trumpets/woodwinds, Memphis had some mistakes but they weren’t overbearing and shi happens 🤷‍♂️

Overall this battle was ngl “mid” it lacked that raw energy. For me the setup for both bands was bad but it really hurt noasb sound more. I do have noasb winning here.
