Don't be upset about getting the regular Daruk's protection, champion abilities are progressive so you need the regular one to get the plus one.

Glad to see some better luck. Just so you know for the future, you have to get the basic Champion Abilities before you can get their "plus version". It's never a bad thing.

I haven't played the chaotic randomizer of BotW before, can't run it at a playable speed, and don't have a modded Switch, but I'm guessing, for the Champion Abilities, you probably always will get the version without the + first, then next time, it upgrades it.
