PRINCE - The Songwriter ( part one )

He even wrote a song for Country singer Kenny Rogers. It was titled “You’re My Love.” And it is just amazing that he is not in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Can we do something about that?

@josebrown5961 Yes, he did, and his own version is included on the originals album the estate released a few years back. Regards the hall of fame he was finally inducted this year a couple of months after I'd put out this video. Apparently, they had contacted Prince about the award before he passed away but prince wasn't able to accept the award at the time, so it was pushed back to 2016 the year he passed. At least Prince knew he had made it in before he passed away.

Another fabulous video Mr Ant. Prince was a story teller, teacher and poet. Still upsets me that he’s not in the Songwriters Hall of Fame! It just makes a mockery of the whole institution! Prince is one of the best songwriters of all time 💜

Brilliant video, absolutely 💯 amazing.....Prince never got the credit he deserved as a 🎵 songwriter through out his career u really nailed it with Sign O The Times it is one of the greatest songs of all time, and my favorite song from that album is The Ballad of Dorothy Parker the lyrics are amazing, Starfish and Coffee is an amazing song that tells the story of Cynthia 🌹 Rose a song that is still heavy in my rotation.....Gold is my mom favorite song R.I.P. 👩 mom.. .once again an excellent job with this video truly amazing can't wait 4 the next part.

I’ve just looked up the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Okay, there are some truly great songwriters in there but also some others that are just good and have had success but are nowhere near as great as Prince. Does anybody really believe that all four members of Kool & The Gang are better or more important than Prince? 😮 I suspect this is quite a conservative institution and they have resisted honouring Prince because of his controversial side. A similar thing happened with Jerry Lee Lewis and the Country Music Hall of Fame, corrected after a long campaign shortly before his death.
