It’s disgusting his own brothers would be mad dogging him TAKING FIRE like the fuck is wrong with scandals and secrets and the gaslighting and the “ go out on on our shields” then to disown your veteran that literally ate a frag and really was close of being fatal for America , ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️

He hit the nail on the head when he said "I don't think this is unique to just seals but all military deployment to a combat zone" i was in the Army and was also in Afghanistan in 2013 and i wasn't nervous or really scared up until the first mission I did, but like he said you basically become numb to all of that pretty quickly and he couldn't have said it any better. I remember not even flinching anymore at the mortar alarms (which means there's incoming mortar fire) so much so that sometimes I wouldn't even try to go out to the bunker if i was in my tent. And like out on missions like he said you feel so confident with your team around you.

That's kind of a messed up thing to say though. I didn't find out until later in life. I was autistic. I'm successful in my career. Have a wonderful family and I'm quite well spoken but I don't like eye contact. It sucked so hard when every single sales meeting talked about how I needed to give more eye contact to become sincere. I physically can't bring myself to make more than a second of eye contact without it derailing my thoughts. Now I've learned to look at their hair. It tricks most people. I'm not attacking you but the eye contact thing is a old adage of sincerity that needs to go away
@wadeh8418

@@mikekristin7201yeah let’s change an old adage or general truth just because there’s a few people out there with the ‘tism that can’t give the same level of eye contact.

@@MrNatronimo I'm not mad at the world. But that would be like saying someone isn't sincere when they meet you because they didn't shake your hand because they don't have hands. someone's sincerity has nothing to do with meaningless body gestures of any kind. Edit or a veteran for not standing during the anthem because they are paralyzed

Apologize for the second post but obviously this has really frustrated me listening to the long version interview then the small clips from it...NOTICE WITHIN THE FIRST 20 SECONDS How John is making excuses, attempting to minimize his contribution not because do I believe he thinks that but because of the pressure placed on him by the SEAL community and likely the Navy. He mentions having TWO DEPLOYMENTS AS "AS MINIMUM AS YOU CAN GET"...but he LEAVES OUT THE FACT HE WAS ALMOST KILLED... I'm sure most are familiar with Medal of Honor Recipient Marc Lee, a SEAL assigned to TASK UNIT BRUISER, SEAL TEAM 3, JOCKO WILLINK TEAM...Team with Chris Kyle, Johnny Kim, and basically every guy is now a legend..a SEAL icon...Marc Lee only deployed ONE TIME... does anyone minimize his contribution? Does anyone argue against him being approved to receive the MOH? What about Chris Kyle...although he was deployed many times to different places did any of the guys that spewed hate at John disrespect or contact Chris Kyle before he was killed about his book??? I doubt it...Point being, HYPOCRITS...No reason for this man to minimize his contribution to the SEALS or to our country. Those that have betrayed him, turned their backs on him are equivalent to the purple haired, easily offended screaming anti-trumper/anti-conservative groups...these SEALS were offended, got their panties in a wad and made life so miserable on this man and his family once he recovered and didn't die...he was forced to move out of VA Beach. Let that sink in the next time anyone thinks about idolizing the SEAL Community...Consider what they've done to one of their own. Sickening IMO.

That's called compartmentalization. It's a psychological coping mechanisim that essentially shuts off ones normal brain/thought process and only allows focus on that which enhances ones survival. He called it primal and he's correct. In psychology it's jokingly referred to as ones "lizard brain" or "primate brain." Once a person allows themselves to engage in compartmentalization of any sort, it becomes very easy to rely on that mechanisim rather than to deal with/process what are considered normal life stresses. This is why people say "He/she came back from _______ a different person." You must become a different person in order to survive something like combat. And you never really return fully to the person that existed before that. Mr. B Allen: This Marine 0311 appreciates you, and I'd strongpoint Hell with you any day, brother.

This story is many Soldier / Sailor / Marines story. As a young Infantryman, when OIF / OEF first jumped off. I was stuck thinking I would not get deployed. I would miss my war. Miss my chance to do my Job as a Grunt. As 2004 came around I was Notified that we would be deploying to OIF, finally. Thank god. And I’ll tell you. To wrap up a Long story. The first night I got into a HMWV and rolled out into Baghdad. The sights and smells of Iraq. The just utter poverty and chaos from traffic. The reality sets in REAL QUICK. This isnt a Fucking Video Game. And be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.

Hell what most people don’t understand about the military is even non combat deployments can have exactly the same effects on the psyche as a combat deployment, obviously yes people in an active combat zone will suffer from fears that non combat deployments may not understand, but even on an aircraft carrier for example, the mental turmoil your brain goes through being out in the middle of the ocean, no contact with the outside world, the only people you can go to for help, whether it’s physical or mental, don’t really care about you as a person, only as a number for combat readiness, it really heavily affects the human mind, once you fully grasp the reality that you are no longer valued as a human, but instead as a statistic on paper, your outlook on life really starts to change, spent 334 days on an aircraft carrier during Covid, because of that we only ported for 12 days in total, 4 splits of 3 days, and the other 322 days were spent out at sea, working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, dressed fully head to toe in multiple layers of thick cotton/leather clothing, on a flight deck that is currently 115 degrees Fahrenheit, and the jet blast is accelerating that heat all the way up to 135 degrees, spending 6-8 hours a day in that heat, in the sun, getting blasted by jet exhaust, it destroys you mentally, and causes you to think ways you never thought you could. Just a thought people, even “non combat” vets can have some serious issues.
