zaar is not exorcism, that is a wrong interpretation. It is for making the "visitor"-spirit happy and balancing it out.

there are two kinds of Zardance, one to "befriend" the jinn the other to "free yourself from the inner demon" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/inqnmGmBjs6Yg80

Thank you for sharing this. It reminds me of my own cultural. We play the bata drummer to feels the spirits but only to a line us with blessings and cure awhile negativity. Of course Christian frown upon it.

@nyairorotepekong Hi, well this was recorded in Egypt, but this Zar ritual is hard to find...because it is not a muslim ritual but originally a Ethiopian/ Sudanese one, so the officials are not very keen on it. It s not forbidden but also not allowed. The music is typically Egyptian though, only the songtexts are different.
@sabadanse6 жыл бұрын
Could you tell us more about the songtexts ? What are they saying ?

Okay, the name Zar in Ge'ez(Ethiopian) refers to a Demon. People who worship Zar are considered as Witches in the Abyssinian culture.
@Georgios_Kakouris4 жыл бұрын
@@ellaamira3418 I thought that the word "zar" derives from "jar", a Kushitic god whose name means god or sky or something like that... Is it wrong? If you know, please answer me. Thank you.

@@sabadanse It’s beautiful Arabic sayings, blended with wholesome praises. Every now and then a whiff of a pure, kindly prayer comminuted in air, only for them to inhale as a perfume to their souls. Of course, the ambiance is not clear of spiritual expressions of the beauty that manifests in this existence we are inseparable from. This is endlessly beautiful; I’d need eternity to communicate the beauty they’re reflecting; beauty, per se, is infinite.
