Bro, I am right there with you. I like my car being quiet when just driving, but then loud to be heard when getting aggressive. That’s why I chose to keep my MK7 GTI exhaust stock, except for my catless downpipe, and then for the loud part, I had an exhaust cutout welded into my downpipe. This way it’s pretty civilized with the cutout closed, but when open, it’s extremely loud, but more importantly to me, it sounds different than 99.9% of other MK7 GTI’s out there, as my cutout dumbs directly to the ground. This gives it an echo’ing sound that you cannot get with an aftermarket exhaust. When it pops, it’s real popping, and not this fake “pop and bang” stuff that needs a tuner to make that sound. I have a few videos of my cutout open and closed, in-cabin and outside footage, driving and not driving, windows down windows up...I’ve done it all and you can view it on my channel if you want. I used an ECS Tuning 3” exhaust cutout. And yes, it does shoot 🔥

lol 2 yrs ago but what cutout did you use? Thanks!

Most racing fuels are based on E-85, I strongly recommend that one has a tune and potentially even rubber hoses replacement if you are going to run E-85 very often, the ethanol over time can break down the rubber compounds found in most fuel lines/hoses. I have seen people run E85 in their BMW (or other german brand cars) and for a while, it will not have trouble, however, if you do not have the proper hoses and you will eventually run into some problems.
@andrewstone28066 ай бұрын
Ethanol based fuels also decrease exhaust life as it burns at hotter temps
@JacesOwnWorld3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know what turbo you are/were running when you made this video, but if you were IS20, yeah, you wouldn’t be able to keep up entirely with V8 muscle cars. Maybe in low gears 2-3, but once 4th and up gear hits, the muscle cars will start pulling on you. I have been Stage 2 IS20 and tried. Fun, but just not enough. When you go IS38 or bigger, you will start competing better, but that will depend on the tuner/tuner and fuel.

The word your looking for is torque, I think, when you’re talking about that low end power on the 91 vs e85 power

Hey brother, I know this is an older video, but hopefully you'll still see this. I"ve been a subscriber of yours for about 3 years and man I love your content. I have a question... I'm currently running a eqt stage 2 93 octane tune, have a IE catted downpipe, Neuspeed FMIC and CAI, also have an Apr TCU tune. How much hp would I net from swapping from 93 octane tune to e85 tune? Thanks in advance
@JewelCity15 ай бұрын
A stock turbo e85 tune will put you around ~350-360whp. Depends how hard you want to push it. Get 1 step colder spark plugs if you haven’t already.
@birminghamblueheat49865 ай бұрын
@@JewelCity1 It’s probably about time for me to replace the Denso’s. I think I probably have about 320-330 whp with the EQT stage 2, so the hpfp and e85 tune will net me 20-30 more hp? I use this vehicle for my daily driver also, so I don’t want to get too crazy, so as far as I’ll probably go with this vehicle will be is38 upgrade and upgraded fueling. Once it hits its last lick, I’ll follow your lead and get a S3.. more maybe a R, haven’t thought quite that far yet.
@silviodante58294 ай бұрын
@@birminghamblueheat4986I’ve had the eqt is38+ and the vortex xl on my mk7.5 and the is38 isn’t much of a difference from is20. Sure it has a little more power up top in the rpm range but, it doesn’t necessarily feel that noticeable. I since went back to is20 stage 2 eqt on my mk7.5 and actually enjoy it much more now. I’d say just go stage 2 e85 and you would be happy. Definitely a big difference in performance compared to 91 or 93 octane.
