John B aka Smooth Chocolate both the book and the TV episode were both really awesome. And this episode and book taught you a valuable life lesson. Don’t change your looks as a person even if it means getting back at your worst enimies. Because to be able to find the old you is to look at something that resembles you or something that shows resemblance of love towards to you.

I remember reading this book in the school library when it first came out. When they did the 2 part tv movie, it was one of the first experiences as a kid I could recall watching something I had personally read being adapted to the screen. I loved hearing lines straight off the pages. Also I thought it was cool how they changed the setting of the Chuck and Steve scare and the climax to a cemetery, made it much spookier 👻

The story goes that RL Stine's son Matt got stuck in a Halloween mask once when he was young, but instead of immediately helping to yank off the mask from his son's head, Stine was inspired to write a horror story based on his son's traumatic experience 😂 and then eventually helped take the mask off of his son's head 😅

They really only get affected by the mask once they slip it on, and based on what kind of mask it is, makes the wearer take on that mask's attribute. Just like with Steve when he put on the old man mask in The Haunted Mask II.

While I do enjoy the story, these audiobooks do feel like a litttttttttllllllleeeeeeee bit of a step down from the original(not said to be insulting, thank you for uploading, but just mean in terms of production quality, as the OG had separate voice actors for each character, it had cool sound design that kept you engaged and music in the background to add to the ominous quality!)
