You need to make a dumpster, to hold construction debris while you build the station. 😉 EVERY gas station needs a dumpster nearby! lol Good stuff thus far. I see you changed your exterior wall plan. I like how it came out.

A lot of memories here. In 1968 I worked at a American Standard service station, on Pacific Highway South of Sea-Tac airport, from 10pm until 6am. There was a bar just up the highway and on Fridays and Saturdays I’d get all the drunks after it closed. I was the only guy on duty, so I’d have to clean the bathrooms. So much fun! Yikes, what a mess!

You must be so very pleased with your accomplishments in production of this Texaco Gas ⛽⛽⛽ Station. I couldn't be doing it any better myself, and I have my OWN branch locations of branded retail gas stops. I have a Mobilgas; that one is a standard two bay but an outstanding feature is the inclusion of a rear petroleum yard with a large diesel tank, and propane area with the exchange cabinet and propane tanks, a filling shed, and a drive-thru where the customers have the option of either exchanging their empty tanks, or filling them at their choice. AND enough warning signs to set thoughtless customers straight into not smoking or lighting up anything. The one rest room i call the Toilet Zone (Twilight Zone) as a humorous touch via a homemade decal sign i made myself. And of course, the general flurry of business and patronage activity (cars needing attention within the bays, a '57 Chevy having a damaged tire replaced outdoors by a staff mechanic, a '48 Ford Mobilgas tanker filling the main well, a bikini clad girl standing by the Coke machine, and as well as the customers being waited on at the pump islands, some more humorous parody stickers advertising Mobil Oil (No Bull), STD Oil Shortage, and one more, not an intended parody; it's the Mobil brand in various countries in the world (Mo' Gas) i added a copied likeness of Moe (Three Stooges) next to it to create a belly laughing sales pitch that reads "Just Say....pan down to the shot of Moe and the Mo' Gas sticker. The man who runs the Mobil Station is Andy Nappi, affectionately known as Admiral Andy with his past history of his rank in the Navy. He may holler a lot at his emoloyees, but they all love him for his sense of humor and repute him a decent man. Andy's Mobil ⛽⛽ Station. These are the elements that make a vast portfolio of imagination. Every good luck in your new Texaco shop. I also have a Sinclair Truck 🚛🚒 Stop with an attached diner, and a Gulf Racing Center with a bikini car wash, and the stock cars being serviced B-4 the big race at Raceway Park in Jersey. Shut 'em Down!!!

Sorry: I didn't figure ONE more outstanding sight at Andy's Mobil Station ⛽ inside one of the bays, a '61 Dodge Dart with cooling system issues, and overheating (radiator? water pump? head gasket on the Slant Six?) Whatever it is, Andy's star mechanic is right on it! And get this; a dilapidated old '80 Chevy Citation with rust, doors with mismatched colors, and with the genius of a scant white cotton ball, smoke lazily rafting out of the hood (engine smoke) and a nasty smoke cloud (dotted slightly with light blue paint coming out the tailpipe as oil smoke borne out of deceased piston rings bordering on an engine subject to blowing. a Corona Extra sticker on the hood, AND a toilet paper roll sticker touched up with brown GET IT to prove its pedigree! (this car's running and driving, but dying of old age) and owned by a high school nerd (Carson Marsh) who can barely afford the gas money, much less the cash to sink into the Chevy's swamp so it'll STAY on the road. Carson's just there to get what he can afford to get to school on (Five of Mobil Regular). They laugh just SEEING him! If this ain't detail, I don't know WHAT is. And you WILL agree it all tells a story!

May I suggest you put a piece of plywood under the base so you can pick it up without warping the plastic. Evans leds has little welder setup thats really cool. Thanks for the input. I will for sure be using a 1/2" piece of plywood for the under base, and I may have that on top of a frame to hold it an inch or two off the table so I can do some other cool tings under it. LOL Don't want to limit my ideas. I've programmed an Arduino to run LEDs to simulate the weld flash. I am reliving my childhood with this one. So many cool things I can do with it now that I'm a grownup. LOL Thanks again for watching.

I have an extra front window that I am going to try a decal on to see if it looks right. If not I think it's going to go above the office on the white section above the windows on both sides. I was thinking about making one of those lighted curb signs in the front. I will make a box using evergreen for the sides top and bottom, and plexi that I sand down on the front and back with two little slots that I can slide a piece of printer paper in so I can light the inside of the box with an LED and that will light the paper. Then I can print things out on the paper to look like those replicable letters. Then I can make a bunch of different signs, and change it every once in a while. LOL Maybe I'll make that part of the big Texaco street sign. Now that would be cool as heck.
@Bruces-Eclectic-World

@@grandpamarkshobbiesWell I still say on the glass on both windows. A street sign would also help and that is a cool idea! "Get You Cold Pepsi Here!" Lol Don't don't for get the S&H Green Stamp sign out front too. ☝ I do be leave that "N" scale train stuff is close in 1:25 scale and you could get some of those hanging lights for the outside walls that some stations had over the restroom doors. 🤔 You do need exterior lighting too you know. ☝😁 Do you ever get any sleep? I will be doing several wiring videos for this build. I think the first will be wiring the Texaco street sign. That will be a straightforward LED job, but will show how to use the resistors to make it work with 5 volts. I plan on running this whole garage on a USB charger. I'll also show how to strip down a charging cord so you can use that and a USB charging block to light a project. Then there will be several several more for all the different projects.

Hey Mark. It's looking good my friend. You need to paint that green strip around the bottom of that closet. Bite the bullet and go 24X24. Nice and square. Don't forget you need a dumpster,oil can racks and tire racks. I thought about having your logo on the office door. On the glass or the bottom of it . Your not going to make it too big I hope. You could also put the air hoses on the islands by the pumps? OK I'm gonna stop before I lose it all again. Great video thanks Mark.
@grandpamarkshobbies
@grandpamarkshobbies Жыл бұрын
I will for sure paint that strip around the bottom of the closet and the stanchions on the other side of the shop as well. The kit actually came with an oilcan rack, so I have two of them. One for each set of pumps. I was planning on making a dumpster sometime down the road. Once I get the Texaco signs up and all the other decals set I'll have a better idea of how it's going to look and where I can put all the signs I've collected, and my logo.

Man I can tell your trying to get this thing under roof before the snow flies... Lol Looking great and I like the change in the wall's, that is way better. The removable wall should have some bracing ruining horizontally and hang your cabinets on them which will hide the bracing. I seen a ton of flexing when you were taking it in and out. The magnets are once again the hero of the hour... 🤪 Shoot me a email and set me know what shop tools you have, not the box's. 😎 Power was out for 6 hours to day and this afternoon was a day wasted. Mark that look like Jack. I thought you meant you was going to have him do guest appearance's... Lol Not sure but that green looks real close to Sinclair green too. Might be wrong.
