A GREAT TUNE brought back good memories of my younger years

Perfect! An accordion does not have to be played fast and furious with more notes than can be believed to make a person a good player. This performance shows off how much emotion can be put, from the heart into the bellows and then out to a listener.

Wow, thanks for such a lovely comment. I just noticed it now, 3 years late on my reply, sorry. All the best and take it Eezee. 😎👍

Thanks very much. I played this tune at the graveside of my grandmother as she was lowered into the ground at Myrus Cemetry, Macduff in 2018. It was a very powerful moment.

I'll check that out. It is a beautiful tune especially on a fiddle. I like the Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham version especially.

Hi Charlie. Very interesting to hear of both William Marshall and Charles Grant. I've read Moira Cowie's book about Marshall, published around 2001. A' the best. Charlie Beaton, Woodside, Aberdeen (late Macduff)

A beautiful tune. If you don't mind me asking , how long have you been playing, I'm guessing from a child ?

Thanks Adrian, I started playing the accordion when I was 15. Took a shine to it right away and I'm still learning new things. It's a never ending journey.

@@CharlieAbel Nice one, I started about 9 months ago at the age of 67 when I retired to Norfolk. Watching loads of U Tube videos for accordion and piano and help from people like Ronen Segall and Jim Spry ( in Glasgow ), so have got theory basics under my belt now, just need to practice more. I enjoy your videos, keep 'em coming

I've listened to you and Steven Wilson i don't know which angle your both coming from
@CharlieAbel3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean Bill. I'm not coming from any angle. I am what you see, there's no ulterior motive or subliminal messaging behind my music video. It's just a Scottish air on an accordion. 🤗 I am a self taught full time musician and family man trying to make a living with no gigs allowed, trying to get somewhere on KZbin. If people don't like my music, songs, original material, films and general information they dinna have to listen. Thanks fully many do and I hope to continue making music for them and I hope they'll subscribe so they get notified of my new videos. @StevenWilson is most likely in a similar position. It takes a lot of time to put together videos and learn how to do it. a lot of practicing, a lot of money on equipment and instruments. I fund it all my self through whatever means i can muster.
