Rainbows have white mouths no gray or black. Cohos are easily differentiated from kings as their tails have no spots. This year Sheboygan is producing lots of big cohos. Great fishing!

I still have some Rod Holders like that on my Boat. Do yourself a Favor and put a snap swivel rope attachment to your Dipsey Diver Rods. I used two dog leashes to my Dipseys until I got other Holders.. It's just all the stress the Dipsey puts on it and then a Big King Slams it. Hope it doesn't happen to you. Good Luck tight lines. I'm subscribed. 👍✌️

Hopefully I’ll have the new rod holders next year but if i don’t I’ll definitely look into the rod leashes. That’s a great idea. Thanks!!

@@CNCoutdoors can tell you just starting out and so am I . You got a nicer boat than I and hope to upgrade. Definitely want to stay with a trailerable boat tho. I found two Big Jon Electric Riggers for $800.00 for both. They are only two years old. The few times I've been I'm so Glad I found the Electric Riggers.. $200.00 more for 15lb Shark Bite weights and I'm all set for Riggers. Want me to let you know if I find a good deal on Electric Riggers? Have a friend that has a very successful small engine repair business and he has two Scotty Electric Riggers he has never used and may sell LMK. ✌️✌️

We do the same stuff out from San Fran. Except it's usually a big deep swell with 2-4' chop on top and 55F and fog. We have the F&G on our butts too.
@CNCoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
We got pretty lucky, usually the lake has a pretty good chop 2’+ and we did have quite a few fog patches come through on this day. I’ve had days on Lake Michigan where you can’t see 10’ in front of the boat when the fog comes in.. pretty freaky

Was in Port Monday. Went 4/5. Two Lakers an 8# King and a 10# Rainbow. Had two fish hit the 6 color Watermelon. Rainbows have an all white mouth. Coho have a mix of white and black. Kings are all black. Got a season pass and a very similar boat. May be back out tomorrow morning.
@CNCoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yeah those cohos really threw me off because I’ve never seen them that big before.. still learning 😂 good luck on your future trips!! Seems like it’s just getting good

@@CNCoutdoors sometimes it’s really hard to tell the difference between the ho’s and the kings, but the bows mouths are always white. And if your ever interested in a Port trip I’d be more than happy to have you along. I tend to mostly take friends who haven’t been out on the big water before, but it’s always nice to have someone on the boat with some experience. Don’t go a ton but will probably go another half dozen times or so this year.

What are your salmon runs like there? Have they gone down over the years?
@CNCoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
From my personal experience i think it’s gotten better compared to 10-15yrs ago. My grandpa used to take me out when i was a kid (15-20yrs ago) and we caught fish but never anything crazy. The last couple years people have been pulling limits and isn’t uncommon to catch a 25lb plus king. This year has been a late start but there definitely starting to show up and i expect the next 2 months to be lights out.

Man those were great conditions for salmon fishing! I have always wanted to try lead core fishing. Do you usually just have two rods dedicated for lead? If you had 10 colors out is that like 300ft back behind the board? How deep would that take the lure?
@CNCoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t get much better than that out on the big lake! Lead core is 10yrds per color and it runs about 5-7’ down per color, so 10 color would be about 50-60’ down. I always have at least 2 lead cores out. Thinking about making a 7 color for next year for another option.

This video was painful to watch. Not for the filming and the action as that was fine. But between this fish identification, and the rod placement on your boat. I'd highly recommend getting some sort track system (Bert's or Traxtech) for your boat, and trees to stack your planer board rods vertically. Also if your tired of wrestling diver rods out the rod holders get some ratcheting rod holders.
@CNCoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I’ll be adding the traxtech some day, just don’t have the money yet. As for the fish identification I’ve never seen cohos that big so it messed up my judgment lol. Thanks for watching!
