In the wake of the recent mass shooting in Monterey Park, California Governor Gavin Newsom has spoken out against the use of standard capacity magazines that he referred to as "large capacity clips".
He claimed that they "perpetuate lunacy" and that there is no justification for their use.
He also incorrectly emphasized that mass shootings in the United States are a unique problem that does not exist in other parts of the world.
California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country, including a red flag law, universal background checks, an "assault weapons" ban, firearm registration requirements, a limit on the number of guns a law-abiding citizen can buy each month, a ban on campus carry for self-defense, a ban on teachers being armed on K-12 campuses for classroom defense, a 10-day waiting period on gun purchases, restrictions on firearm sales advertising, background checks for ammunition purchases, and a requirement that all ammunition be purchased from state-approved, in-state ammunition vendors.
Despite these laws, the state has still seen multiple mass shootings in recent years, which really perpetuates lunacy the effectiveness of these gun control measures.
It is worth noting that the term "large capacity clips" is unclear what exactly it refers to.
Some people interpret it as a magazine which can hold more than 10 rounds some 8, some probably more than 1.
He also referred to the 2nd amendment as a dangerous pact.

Also I remember this guy shut down winery's in Cali during the lock downs but his winery's could operate at full capacity. People had to close down shops and restaurants but this man and his friends could hold a benefit fully catered and it was allowed.

I’m an OIF2 vet, an FMF corpsman fully equipped with the ability to treat traumatic injuries, a federal law enforcement officer, a special teams operator and a federal firearms instructor. I’m not big dicking, I’m offering this information to say that these people believe that no matter how much training you have that more than 10 rounds should even be illegal for me. I’m allowed to carry automatic and burst fire for work. But my concealed carry should only have 10 rounds? I’m somehow less trustworthy off the clock? I average a 326/330 on our multi weapons course. I can, at 10 yards, fire 3 rounds>reload>2 rounds course of fire in under 3 seconds with 100% accuracy inside of the 5 ring. Reloads don’t matter. Capacity doesn’t matter. Barrel length, stock/brace doesn’t matter, vertical/angled foregrip doesn’t matter. Type of round doesn’t matter. Lethality doesn’t change because of these things. Shot placement and follow up shot placement change lethality. People who want to kill people will use any tool they can get their hands on to do so. I’m willing to bet that with sim rounds, I could get more center mass shots at a faster rate with a 5 round 2 inch barrel .357 than any random guy off the street with the garden variety AR15. There has never once been a valid argument made to support the restricting of firearms of law abiding citizens. I simply cannot understand how outside of political talking points, people can still support this lack of brain power as prudent.

When my son and I go to the gunrange we have to pay by the hour. If we're spending half that time loading those small little magazines, then we don't get as much trigger time. What WE REALLY NEED TO DO IS... Limiting the time someone ( like Gavin Newsome) can spend in a position of power. I feel for you. I don't live under a yoke of oppression, but here is what I do to maximize pew time. I have about a thousand 10 rd clips (Yes I meant to say clips, and no i do not have that much ammo, the clips were just cheap) for my AR-15. I have far fewer standard capacity magazines. Add in a magazine spoon and you slide the ammo from the clip to the magazine. Repeat until full.
