The Cr9ekpa plug would also be one step colder from cr8ek. That’s why it would also help with the heat and detonation at high rpm. The number (the 8 or the 9) is the heat range of the plug and the higher the number the colder the plug. It sounds backwards and wrong but it’s true. I learned this from working on my turbo Audi TT after I built and tuned I needed colder plugs to deal with the heat and detonation from higher boost. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks Mr. Cuervo , Iridium have higher melt than platinum this is the only reason why they stay longer , and yes PA plug make more horse power as they dont leave much fuel unburn at the cylinder leading more engine operational rate , i personally use them at my raptor

NGK CR9EKPA you can get from O’Reilly auto parts as NGK 7785, that’s the part number that matches the plug

@jackdaniels52055 жыл бұрын
Really the biggest reason the CR9EKP is making more power then the rest is because the (9) gives the signification its a colder heat range then the (8). With NGK what ever number is in that part number is the heat range,and with a colder plug you can add some more spark,and lean the AFRS a touch to get more power,and still keep knock under control. The CR8 plugs are a hotter heat range,and you will have to richen the mixture to keep exhaust temps under control since you will have to run the timing a bit more retarted making exhaust temps higher. Now as for the dual ground straps being beneficial I dont know,and think this is debatable
@MrCuervoRacing5 жыл бұрын
That is not why. When we tested it was staying in the same heat range. 8 vs 8 or 9 vs 9. But yes heat range will affect as you stated giving the engine need 1 or the other it will have some variations
@jackdaniels52055 жыл бұрын
Really!! Thats very interesting. Man you being able to do a actual testing on the dyno is awesome!im gonna give that cr9ekp a try this coming up season.
@MrCuervoRacing5 жыл бұрын
@@jackdaniels5205 yeah, it more about an open initial spark kernal then anything else. initial testing was started in testing plugs in this head in clocking which showed gains and way more gains with the open design

Lmao… e3 sucks. Had a RMZ450 not wanting to start after kicking it over for literally 2 months. After work and school I would go try it out. No luck. When I noticed the plug said E3 I was like they put a lawn mower spark plug in a high performance machine… put a freakin NGK and bam! Started after only 2 kicks. EFI bike so it had fuel pressure but no damn spark. Complete garbage. When I see E3 spark plug hanging on the shelf I tell them how it is… “they stay belonging there” get an NGK. Lol

So I have a 2019 700r, big3 (rossier, fci, pcv running one of your maps and pop stop kits) was running an cr9ekpa after watching this video. About 10ish hours and the plug died on me, no spark. Put the stock cr8e plug back in, rode all day no issues. Fired the quad up to put it in the garage, sputtered and died on me again. Bike seems to be running a little rich. Would I be better of running a cr8ekpa? Or even dropping to a cr7 plug? Haven't had any issues until now, but now I can't seem to keep a plug in it.
@MrCuervoRacing4 жыл бұрын
Stock motor should be running the 8* heat range plug as the 9 is too cold and will foul out. , 7 is much too hot and will tend to over heat .

E3 plugs are awesome in 2 strokes and that's it. Lol
@axemurderbambi29953 жыл бұрын
You are full of crap. That spark will ignite the gas whether it's sheltered or not. As long as it's sparking on time it's burning the gas. The only difference in spark plugs in 4 stroke engines is whether it's gonna last or not. There's nothing wrong with e3. Prove me wrong, make a video of each plug on dino. I bet you won't see any difference.
