@Brewer Offroad it is possible to adapt a raptor so that it has the same driving behavior as your yfz450 and by that I mean that it tips over less quickly and throws its butt more easily, so basically all the good things about a yfz450 but with the engine of a raptor because then you have to tinker less quickly, such as preventively replacing the piston, etc.
@BrewerOffroad
@BrewerOffroad 7 ай бұрын
I agree Pete Hagers Raptor is set up nicely and is an animal. However the raptors power delivery doesn't match my riding style very well so I wasn't interested in investing that kind of money into making the raptor a better machine.

Depends on the dyno setup. If dynos aren't set up properly they will read higher number than reality. Jay uses his dyno to dyno other dyno machines. Most of all HP numbers you hear are "inflated" by a faulty dyno set up

I know its not the best filter but I would've went with a different one if you're going to dyno tune it. One small change will throw off the mapping and would need a remapping/tuning. The pipe glow is a negative thing. Usually always a sign it is running way too lean which is super unhealthy but most machine the due big 3 are running lean until you go to a dyno guy

@BrewerOffroad yeah I mean I feel like there was more left of the table for sure. Probably at least another 3-5hp while it was safe. Was this only on 93 pump gas? If so then yeah I'd imagine it's a good gain and safe. But my gut says 55hp to the wheels 60ish crank was obtainable with the big 3. Especially with a custom map. Idk I could be wrong. I just bought a raptor 700. I'm in PA. I have been wanting to do the big 3 and then take it somewhere to be tuned. Is this the best tuner for raptor 700's? Thanks! Awesome channel btw.
@BrewerOffroad
@BrewerOffroad 10 ай бұрын
@kennethhopkins1137 so it's on 93 pump gas but you won't gain HP by increasing octane unless you increase your compression as well. Unfortunately alot of dynos in the country have inflated numbers because of improper sensor locations. Most guys who claim 55 to 60 hp on the big 3 has a faulty dyno set up. The reality is 48 to 52 based on intake and pipe. The tune is more for power delivery. Vortex is the best for clean power delivery, Power Commander is the best on the pocket for sure.

@BrewerOffroad so best big 3 in your opinion? What brands? And who is the best tuner for a 700 raptor?
@BrewerOffroad
@BrewerOffroad 10 ай бұрын
@kennethhopkins1137 dasa exhaust, fci intake, vortex tuner. A custom map from a dyno session is the best way to go not a pre mapped tuner. I only know of Jay in Chicago that is near me. Illinois powersports.

@@BrewerOffroad I had an early 660 at one time and could agree those were poop. These later models are perfect for us big guys. I just smashed my stock pipe on my 18 so I fell in the KZbin rabbit hole of piping and tuning videos. I’m going to look into this tuner. I’m afraid of leaning out big time and would love the ability to add fuel.

Cause of how the video is titled and what’s actually in the video. Yes dyno tune is one of the best ways, street tune is even better then dyno but both are better then a box tune.
