Another great video Daz, you put a lot of time and effort in your making of them it is great viewing and much appreciated, with reference to sconegate 🤔😁 according to research, what's widely known as the “Devon method” is putting your clotted cream on first and covering that up with jam whereas the “Cornish method” involves spreading your scone with strawberry jam and then topping that layer with clotted cream. So you two are Devon Daz and Cornish Mike 🤣🤣🤣🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️😎👍

Thank you kindly. I guess we are all leisure cyclist at the end of the day Terry😁 and I take a lot of inspiration from people who get out on their bikes and give it go. It's never been an easy sport to get into and it is definitely a sport where the older you become, the more the benefits from regular riding start to pay dividends regardless of how quickly you can get from A to B...

Great video Darren, enjoyed the ride and going places I’ve visited in the past, not getting involved in the jam & Cream discussion because you know I will agree with Dave & Mike 😅 I was impressed with the way you dispersed the deer 🦌 it was amazing, still loads of rain on the roads but no pot holes that I could see, all very invigorating, the only way I’ll get any fresh air and exercise is with a newly acquired rollator, after my son makes me some ‘L’ plates for my maiden voyage:) take care until next time 👍

Hi Bernice, I hope you are well. The scone debate is always a great bit of fun to talk about 😂 We saw the deers in the field heading across towards the road so I put a spurt on and watched them leap over a wall onto the road, I'm just glad they made it across OK. Best of luck of luck with the Rollator. Not sure what they are but it sounds like fun...

(Most of it is recovered now but £££ it wasn't cheap) I know the climb you are talking about, me and Mike descended it on the Bowness ride. I want to climb it and then descend into Barbondale, it's a stunning area. How's the bike getting on ? My winter bike has been hammered with the bad weather. bearings, chains, the drive train and brakes are taking a beating.

Another really good video like so many of your filming, does not age with time, watchable again and again. Although I have to say that I did feel so sorry for your guest rider, Dave. Mainly because Dave is unaware of the ways of the “Force” and there are certain way in which a scone needs to be eaten, cream first or jam. You cannot meddle with the laws of the universe. That I’m afraid is the way the world works. 😂 Plus the look on your face Daz made me laugh, absolute disgust. 😂 Plus poor Dave, riding with you two speed junkies I’m not surprised he’d be going hell for leather, he dare not do anything else. I just wonder Mike and Daz if sometime this year you may do a group ride of many who enjoy your videos. Simply all meet up and “Go for a ride” and not for those who are speed junkies or merely there to show off, but just don’t mind riding and being filmed and enjoying the day in “A day in the life of Mike and Daz” Maybe the logistics might be a nightmare or not, who knows. Just a sideline Daz and perhaps something for your viewers to remind themselves of. Crashed the bike(Raleigh Revenio) last week and ended up in hospital. No bones broken but cuts, bruises and entire right leg black and blue from the crash. Usual story, going hell for leather in Blackburn and spotted gravel on a stretch of smooth tarmac at the last minute. By the time I realised, both wheels had totally lost traction and that was that. New mech, two new wheels, tyres and bar tape, plus a very angry wife, not sure which was worst, the wife or the crash. But as you always say Daz, please please just take care as it’s not worth going full out if it means injury. I’ll be off the bike for a few weeks at least and the pain is massive. At 57yrs I don’t bounce as well as I used to so please road fans, just take your time and enjoy the day and leave the speed to the twenty somethings 😂😂 Let’s all just take care on those roads, we “Band of brothers, and sisters” 😀👍
@MrDazP1adv3ntures
@MrDazP1adv3ntures 9 ай бұрын
So many point raised here Steve, first of all I hope you are ok buddy, the Revenios can take some stick I will tell you that. I lost the front end of mine over the back of Halifax a few years ago and landed in the hedge. I also have some Cole wheels in the shed which came with my Raleigh. I took em off after one ride so they are like new if ever you are stuck. Like wise Raleigh handle bars and seat posts etc. I guess the scone debate will continue too, Dave put an excellent case forward on this one which played right into Mike's hand but it was still nonsense. Cream first, then Jam your honour. I agree with you about organising a group ride too, it has been on my mind for some time now. What distance would you recommend. I was thinking no more than 60 miles 100k or a half century 50 miler. It is getting quite expensive to ride a sportive these days, £50 is about the going rate which is more than car tax for the year. I'm more than happy to plan a group ride for anyone who would like to ride on a given date. Speedy recovery my friend..
@lcsdw01
@lcsdw01 9 ай бұрын
Thank you Daz for your good wishes. I wish I’d known about your spare wheels as I liked them and tried to find them on-line but no luck. 🙁 so thank you very much for your offer. However the bike shop at Ewood sorted me out with a pair of Vision Trimax 30 but obviously it will be a few weeks before I can ride them and see if they are indeed any good. Ride wise Daz I think a 50mile’ish ride would be encouraging enough for a wide range of riders to have a go at and feel a real sense of achievement when competed rather than a “how fast and how far” an event which can be perhaps be so off putting. But I also think that if you made it an all day or a good few hours ride with cafe stop etc and being a social ride everyone would feel involved I’m sure. I do think one of the main reasons your videos are so popular is because they are very encouraging as many riders and subscribers will be of varying age, ability and levels of bike quality. Better to be a ride perhaps with plenty of chatter, laughter and encouragement along with a good sense of “Right ladies and gents, let’s go for a ride” rather than being thrashed to death. Perhaps somewhere on the Fylde coast where many will be able to ride at speed. I’m sure as long as you and Mike are on the ride it’ll be a real blast and a massive encouragement for riders who may feel discouraged that they can’t ride as far or as fast as many they see on cycling vids. Please pass on my best to Mike and thank you again Daz. 😀👍

Thanks for the reply, It's definitely something I will look into, even if three people turn up. And as for the pace, it would be a nice steady one. If I ride on my own my average speed is usually very low anyway , 12mph -14mph, but it will be easier to ride with a group where everyone communicates what is doable and what is not. The last thing I would want as a cycling enthusiast is to be demoralised in the first 5 miles by a load of fast riders. I will keep you posted.
