I have 'ALWAYS' wished Mister Man had been released as a single right from the first time I heard it, I really thought it would be at the time. I also always felt sad we never got to hear a 12" version. It is so great to hear an extended version now with all the instrumental sections and the echoey vocals. Excellent work! 👍🏼

Clone War was a song they wrote for Waking Up With The House On Fire, but never released. Or maybe never even recorded. The lyrics to the chorus were printed in the Profile package, that book that came with the 12" picture disc for It's A Miracle. It could be about George's success, and all the comparisons between him and other pop stars of the day blending their genders. But "clone" had another meaning to gay men in the 80s; it was a slang term for men who all wore the same clothes- flannel checkered shirts, tight blue jeans, big bushy mustaches. I was perhaps a little too young or naive at the time to fully understand if it was meant to be derogatory or not.

A Grace Jones ( Sly & Robbie) flavour in & out this track me thinks! George is way too up & pop compared to Grace but this Vibe works here somehow! Lov it & always buzz off any stuff he creates using the Jamaican type influence etc he can do no wrong when he blends cultures together musically, it would b FAB to see if he could do more experimental soundscapes ,he has a Genius sensitive ear like no other!!!
