The Gears of War series has been a favorite of mine since its release and what started as gory cover shooter has since become a deep emotional journey about War & Peace, Love & Death and Fathers & Sons. These two characters are brought to life by Actors 'Liam McIntyre' & 'John DiMaggio' Hope you Enjoy!

I used the reading of a poem written by Alan Seeger "I have a rendezvous with death" read by his nephew Pete Seeger (folk singer). Alan wrote this in 1915 and died a year later on the 4th of July 1916 in the battle of the Somme's serving with the French Foreign Legion. At the end of the first day only 59 men of his regiment had survived. It's a haunting poem, but ultimately one of Courage and Bravery about acceptance of duty and the time we have on this earth.

My love for Gears of War has dwindled a little since Gears 5, however this video just rekindled that flame. I was 6 when I played Gears of War 1, now I’m 22 and this video just refreshed all of those memories I have from practically growing up on these games. All the emotions I once felt, the love for these characters, all of it has finally come back thanks to this video. Well done, and thank you. This video made me remember how much these games & characters mean to me.

Del is the canon death in Gears 5. JD will be in Gears 6.

@@Ryan_Cohen I'm genuinely sad to see Del go (after Gears 5, Gears 4 Del was just whiny) but I couldn't do it to my man Marcus. JD is all he has left. I could barely stomach choosing Del over JD when I replayed the game just to see how the ending changed. Poor Marcus.

Gears 1 was originally going to have a choice between male and female Dominic/Dominique. Gears 6 is the opportunity for TC to implement that, and let players pick their favorite character. I identified with Del in a lot of ways. My brother was literally JD in the flesh (but we called him Jimmy, not James). Jimmy’s dead now. So I’m simultaneously okay with JD being dead, and hopeful that we see more of him. I mean JD and Jimmy were *truly* similar. It was eerie. He even beat JD to the “We’ll fly!” line in Gears 4, the day that game came out and we beat it together.

This is amazing. Edit: i keep coming back bc i like the song and poem additions. Along with key sounds from gears makes this a very valid song to me, me and my brother played until the third one. We went our own ways and dont talk anymore, now my childhood friend who became my other brother now play this game all the time together. Another edit: no ads lets me keep replaying this vid. I REALLY love this and wish more people would do this for gears

You are by far my favorite editor man words cannot express how amazing this is. I'm 15 and grew up with gears since I could just start walking. I played all the campaigns with my dad and then later myself when I got my own console. The amount of references of the new gears quotes to the past gears games is so beautifully sad but great! Especially what you did with Kate explaining what happens to the larva and how it rebuilds itself and referring that to JD's life! I'm just about in tears writing this. I can go on and on about how absolutely amazing this is but it's 2 in the morning and I got school in the morning so I'll continue my message tomorrow in class when I get a break from the work. But man this is more than art! this is more than a masterpiece! This is perfection! The song choices you have with these movies is perfect! The introduction is perfect! The story and how you explain the life of these legends is perfect! It's all just perfect! I've tried to make my own after I saw your edits on the gears of war franchise but I'm still fairly new to the editing life. I know this may sound cliche but I want to be just as good as you when I get further into my new hobby of editing. So many more people need to experience your creations. But then again it's like how some people say "some treasures are best kept hidden" when I say hidden I mean kept to the ones who are truly intrigued by the gears story. Gears of war is such a beautiful thing most if not all people don't know about. I tried to get a lot of them on the perfection of this game but they just think it's a rip off version of halo. I'm starting to think maybe I should show this to them. They would definitely love this even if they don't know exactly whats going on. This game is a treasure and you managed to somehow make this treasures value greater than it already is. If everyone were to see this video it would open the eyes of so many and so many more people would finally be able to see the perfection that is the gears of war story. I'm starting to talk in circles I realize that now haha. I got off topic. But seriously though, thank you for making this.. I hope you don't stop making these movies they're so so good! ⚙️🪽❤️

I know the new gears games aren't as good as 1, 2, and 3. but I love them all the same. I grew up with these characters and tho the stakes aren't as severe I love it all the same. JD has alot to love up to being g the sin of Marcus and Anya so hes under stress trying to prove himself and he make mistakes like everyone. Del is just a great guy who's to good for this world with a heart of gold. Kait is a combination of terror and rage, but is more than capable of standing tall next to the others as another kick ass gear. Even Fahz who at first is introduced as an asshile who we probably hated, turned out to be a great guy who is willing g to throw himself off a fecking train to save a comrade and friend. The multiplayer was always fun to me. The only thing I can say I hate about the new gears games is that there is content that I'm locked out if due to not being able to play operation 2 (onyx guard and classic baird) but all in all it's a fun game that I love playing with friends and learning about the lore of the world. My 11 year old self made my original gamertag GearsX14 not because I was any good at the game, but because I loved the game. Thank you TC and thanks EPIC for all the years of grub killin you gave me!

I'm back again Fun fact about Gears 5 The cutscenes are in-engine. I got a glitch that let me use the Tac-com during co-op cutscenes and it still highlights your teammates. Pretty cool.

We want a good story .. now they shot themselves in the back so we have had to wait twice the amount for a next gears game because they have to create z2 campaigns because they killed two main characters for the fifth game ... Gears has made a full circle and im okay with that. It makes me happy that anya finally had a tomorrow. And now marcus is fighting so his son can have a tomorrow. The world is torn apart, the human population is decimated. And mankind only knows war. The gears game has such in detail story building that i have personally memorized. Nobody imagines losing their brother, but both fenix’s have lost theirs. Im just dissaponted in gears five. The girl is such an asshole to dell the whole time and giving the player a choice (who 90% have played since gow1) to save dell or jd. Gears needs to slow it the fuck down and relax. I had no emotion to dell dying or marcuses fake out in 4. They try pushing emotion on us and gears 1-4 (judgment) allowed the player to grow their own emotions not have it forced on us.
