I'll have to start looking for rectangular, camo ration boxes scattered around all those blown up vehicles I see on KZbin videos. All I've seen are those green and white jobbies.

Yeah I can’t say I’ve noticed any others than that main one, maybe they narrowed the majority of production down to the standard one.
@christinevenner1832 жыл бұрын
I find that once you've had 1 Russian mre you've had them all as all the mains are porridge of some kind with patè of some kind, with apple jam as dessert.

Have you tried mixing the vegetable caviar in with the mains, the better ones of the three? I know the one was just inedible, but the other two were sort of bland.

Is it possible that wiping those spoons with the wet-nap may have left enough residue on spoon which in turn made food taste off ?

Hey Nathan and Phil as usual a great video. OK may I suggest something to you that I have had success with. Now mind you they would likely not recommend this on the instructions but, I have had good luck with over the years. I cut up the barley and things like it like you do, but, the one change I make is a add a splash of water before putting it on the stove. Not a lot maybe 1 or 2 spoons (about 1/8 C) and what I find is that the water will boil and cause steam to heat the center of the meal a bit better. You can also add a spoon or so as it is cooking to keep the steam up. I find it tends to heat better, reduce burning and the splash of water tends to "freshen" if you will the meal. Just a trick that has worked for me but your viewers might not get right away without a bit of explaining that in essence you are creating a bit of steam to help with the cooking. Well that is my 2 cents worth. I am going to be trying out some new style rations and some home made kits next weekend the 6th of August. I am taking 12 of the crew out of deep water training and rescue procedures as well as finally getting to use our "new" communication center that i spent the last 18 months building. 1998 40' WINNEBAGO with 3 computer wifi stations and a radio station that will handle PD, Fire, Ambulance and Coast Guard as well as a weather station and Ham all on separate radios. Plus all the 2 new couches that can fold out for hot racking. the full kitchen, full bathroom, and of course 2 brand new A/C's because is has been in the high 90's here in Tampa. She is a beast but not afraid to work (steal from the ARMY with only 9,023 miles on a 21 year old coach)

@@NathansMRE I don't have the time but if there is ever anyway I can help you I would be glad. I do have base privileges, And I have kept my business license active from when I used to cater so I have wholesale prices available. So if there is anything I can ever do for you Just drop me a note. I am scaring the hell out of 70 right now. and the FD wants me to slow down a bit but I still do a LOT training of new staff. But I would never ask anyone to do anything that I have not or would not. This weekend is deep water survival and (fast) water rescue training . Thanks again for all you do as well as Phil it is always fun and entertaining to watch. Hope your sister is doing well in her new job. Have a great weekend and try to stay cool in all the heat. Is it just me or do the European soldier eat A LOT better than U.S. military? The food always looks much more wholesome and nutritious. If I were a Citizen Soldier my moral would be much higher if I were given better food. Although it seem like you may have gotten one that wasn't all good or maybe the disinfectant wipe left a residue? Good review though buddy.

If everything was really good in mre's it would be a boring world, for a mre reviewer especially to claim that seems childish, also for people to come to my channel to only profess their love for another channel in my comments seems a little elementary school to me
