Great video Andy ! I Love watching these MRE videos WHY I don't know ! My wife thinks I am weird ! Maybe lol ! Anyway I wanted to tell you what you can do when you get coffee but no whitener or sweetener you can make what's called Ranger coffee by mixing the coffee with the hot chocolate . Especially when you really aren't much of a coffee drinker like you and I ! Thanks for your time making these vids for us all !
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Hey, I know what you mean, these ration reviews are somewhat hypnotic haha, I did think about the ranger coffee idea but felt I needed to at least try them separate to do a complete 'review' so to speak. Thanks for watching as always :)

That works out to be allot of food for one little pack. Im convinced to try them. Thanks Andy!
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
not bad is it, the dehydrated stuff just kept growing haha
@jbradshaw42363 жыл бұрын
I'm sure most people known but cold weather rations are always dehydrated. This is because wet packs freeze solid. This is a tiny amount of food for a day, it was never enough for us we would always need more. Nice video brought back some memories thanks.

Useful stuff, thanks. Good to have nut-cream in there; helps prevent chafing on those long ski routes. Phil (Swedish flag in thumbnail btw, as if it matters)

One of the last training exercises our son took part in while in the army here in Norway, he ate seven -7- of those packs in one day.

From the ingredients of the field rations in this case, I'd say that it's likely as delicious as it looks. I like cranberries and nutella, plus cereal bars. However, like yourself, Andy, I'm not a coffee drinker either. I prefer fruit teas, though I have nettle tea among the 30 odd flavours I have on hand at any one time. The Scandinavians are renown for their types of bread, so the one in the rations certain looks good to eat. I like apple juice, so the drink sounds pretty good. I've never had chicken tikka, though I do like and eat chicken at least twice a week, but usually cold in a salad. Great video. Take care...
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
It was def a good one and I look forward to the other menus for sure. I do wish more rations had tea though haha. Thanks for watching buddy ATB - Andy

Great review!👍 it kind of bring back memories from when I was in the norwegian army, back in 1995-96, but the MRE we got was not at all as tasteful as today, where you get, your reviewed chicken tikka, cilli con carne, rice satay, beef stew, different pasta meals... to name a few. Remember we had cod in white sauce, it tasted 😩😩😩😩😩, ie. Terrible!! you had to be really hungry!! 😁 only tasteful ting in there was a quite small dark choccolate. Cheers mate, n keep up!😎
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you :) Im glad you enjoyed the video, I don't like the sound of the cod! haha I am def going to get more of these!

Those cereal bars are in the rationX by evaq8 packs. Never seen them in a Lithuanian ration. Good video. I was thinking of trying these Arctic dehydrated meals. Much lighter to carry. Think I'll have to give it a go now. Cheers ☺
@wessteele10583 жыл бұрын
Much lighter and it seems you get better quantity with freeze dried foods like the lrp or arctic meals

You don't see vitamin tabs very often. In principle it is a good idea, especially for longer duration out of doors. However the dirt on your hands would have had more nutrients then the bread lololol! Great MRE vid. Love the old style military cook kits as well.
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
haha, we all ate dirt as kids im sure :p had that mess kit a while so was good to find an excuse to use it, if I had the money I would match a mess kit for every review. Thanks for watching buddy

Hi Andy, Thanks for yet another great, informative video, always looking forward to watching them. Wish I could leave double thumbs up! By the way, and I know that this is probably a silly question but as I am now recovering from an illness I’ll be getting into bushcraft, could you please let me know where can I get myself a chain and pot hook like the one that you use? Many thank mate. ATVB. Steve
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, Thank you :) my chain and hook came with a tripod a while back (as a set with the dutch oven) its called Ronnie sunshines, think I got it on eBay. an alternative could just be a bit of chain from a diy store and a butchers hook would probably work. hope that helps and you get out soon :)

Just catching up on the latest of your videos Andy. I've been eating some "REAL" freeze dried mains while out and about recently. They've been pretty good but I've found there's an unusual taste, common to all of them. Doesn't overpower the meal but makes it just slightly odd. Anyway, I must get some of these actual rations, I've wanted to try them for a while
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, thats interesting, I want to try some more so ill try and 'look' out for that, maybe a preservative or part of the freeze drying process). Thanks for watching the vids :)
@TheConradChannel6 жыл бұрын
Kent Survival no problem. They're good to watch. I actuslky don't bother to watch much of anything these days apart from a few like yours and some car videos/ music . very selective entertainment. Anyway I think I have two of the mains left, I must read the back of those

Good vid andy, as ever. but MRE? not exactly flexing your masterchef muscles there mate! i know, there a lot lighter than a dutch oven, fair enough. im off out on my first wildcamp for about 6 weeks tomorrow. hoping for a good sunrise/sunset in the Chilterns. catch you on the next one. Gary.
@garyhertswildcamper89586 жыл бұрын
Hello again Andy. just got back from my room with a view camp. it was fantastic, the sunrise that is. i was pretty well ok dealing with the cold, but might have to invest in some proper base layers. im still in the learning process re cold weather camping. im generally a 3 season, camper and skip the winter. i discovered it was colder in the village when i came back to a frosted windscreen on my van. but enough about me, any plans to make a vid on cold weather camping? i.e base layers, and and staying warm at night. btw, me and my mate reckon we've found your beach camp location, on google earth that is.not actually been there. but dont worry, your secrets safe with us. 50,000 U S D, and we promise not to go public? catch you on the next vid. Gary Disclaimer, im taking the piss, not really attempting to achieve any financial gain.

Chicken tikka is the worst of all Norwegian mre's. I highly recomend the wilderness stew or lamb casserole. Even the kebab dish is more worth the money. Trust me, i have eaten all of them multiple times
