For the people complaining, this is not a survival ration, it's one of the three daily rations the Spanish army has. Most if the things people miss here can be found on the rest of the boxes.

From the comments, I think some viewers thought they were survival rations, but they are jsut plain old everyday meals. Now as for me, I happen to like sardines in tomato sauce, especially if the sauce is a bit spicy. And the pate would have tickled my taste buds also, but I do agree with you, that a few crackers or slices of bread would have made it better. I have several tins of sardines in my GO BAG, and tinned chicken in my wife's bag. Also keep a larder/pantry of emergency rations for several weeks in the basement. There is probably a van or mobile trailer waiting for the soldiers at the designated lunch spot, full of bread & rolls, like the French army have. You could have mixed the paté with the meatballs to give them more flavour. Ha! Interesting to see different military MRE's though but it doesn't look like the Spanish squaddies get a particularly good deal.

It's a shame that MREs are so expensive in the public sector (even the ones that claim to be cheap). It'd be understandable if they were a more bespoke item, but you know they're mass produced for the military in the same factories already, so I can't imagine they cost a massive amount to prepare. Creating your own is a challenge too, boil in the bag foods used to be more common in supermarkets in the past, but I haven't seen them in a couple of decades probably. One thing I picked up from my DoE instructor years ago is to take some dioralyte sachets for electrolytes rather than isotonic sports drinks etc. Also handy if you get the shits from eating something dodgy too :) EDIT: by the way, have you tried making your own ships biscuit before?

Very cool my friend. I have tried the Spanish Breakfasts, but, as of yet, no lunch or dinner. Hey friend, that isotonic powder, is, meant to be dissolved, in mouth, then, followed by glass of water. It can be done, mixed into drinks, however, not the recommended way, according to Spanish friends? The Breakfast portions, I have tried, are , very light indeed. However, they include, toothbrush, and, much more crackers , than needed for breakfast meal. I was told, the crackers, biscuits, are to be rationed between all 3 meals. 1 toothbrush, but, all 3 meals, have toothpaste to use with said tooth brush. Good looking items. I would have preferred, your meal, as opposed to squid , packed in its own ink, which is very common. If I had the squid meal, I would try it, for sake of reviews , and, reviewers. I usually, do, my utmost best, to keep down pre conceived notions , to my self. Squid, I have eaten, but packed in it's own ink? That ink, I have tried in pasta, and, to say the least, to my palette , is overpowering, and strong. Granted, land locked in the state of Kentucky, here in U.S.A., squid and ink are rare. Might be because of not being brought up with it, still?????????????? Stove and tabs, rocked ! Did the tabs, have the rotten fish smell, that my wife, nearly divorced me for, when I tried once in the house? Since then, I have moved outside on, stoves and, fuel tabs, LOL. The soup did thicken up nicely. The mains, I loved, even the sardines. Coffee or tea, would be nice. Breakfasts, have, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or combination there of. That part, seems better than the lunch friend. Fruit salad, looks good also. Oh, all 3 meals have the isotonic powder, between, 2 and 4, depending upon meal. I simply put, the part about breakfast, having coffee, tea, chocolate drink, and crackers, so , people know you have some , left over from breakfast, to help explain, to some commenters. Hope allowed friend? LOL, Yeah, I know, allowed, LOL. Not much more info than, you already had, however, some of my comments, might help explain some issues friend. Peace, John, AKA, Magnum. P.S., I really love your reviews sir, no B.S. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A good review as usual but the ration is not a patch on current UK MOD 24 hr rations. Rations are a big part of moral not to mention the nutrient content. I would not be a happy camper if that level of ration was all I had for the next 6 weeks.
