You will find a badge outside the alternator it describes how much amps it produces. that power is delivered when the speed is 6000rpm

How many HP is the motor running the alternator and how many RPM can the motor run? The rpm drop when you send power to the alternator to turn on but those it draw down more as a load is being pulled off the alternator? If you have bigger batteries and they are charged up and your pulling a load off them and the alternator kicks on to start charging i can't see a serious load draw like that battery would be dead draw. I would like to make something like that to power and charge a battery Bank to run my car audio amps in the house seeing you can't listen to music in your car without getting tickets and having to pay out of your azz to enjoy something you love.

He's using an AC motor to soon the alternator. If you used a 12V DC motor to turn an alternator, the load of the motor would far exceed the output of the alternator. That would drain your battery much faster than you could replenish and your battery would get hot

Yes, battery excitation is needed only to create/start the magnetic field of the rotor. Once the output power starts inducing, a small part of it goes into rotor to continue the excitation. Once the rpm increases above 3000 rpm to may be 15000 rpm or so (based on make), it'll produce 13 to 15 volt DC which can be used to run any load or charge a 12 volt battery
