When stuck in the LB Landry High School during Hurricane Katrina recovery in 2005 working for FEMA I discovered the MRE cheeseburger. It made the situation much more bearable. I was already a big fan of pound cake going back to my C rats days and loved em in the MREs and Lurps.

My absolute favorite MRE snack is the jalapeño cheese spread nothing like it. Fellow Army Vet, I was a Ammo specialist. Have a great one ☝️

Jalapeno cheese spread Tabasco sauce lemon pound cakes peanut butter and chocolate bars make a Reese's about the best things out of MRE

I latch onto those salt and pepper packets. They go good in Altoids and other survival kits. And really improve a fish bunny or snake you aquire somehow

The jalapeno pepper jack beef patty menu came with a special twin wheat snack bread pouch. Essentially just a regular wheat snack bread that was cut in half. I do remember it being pretty soft. Shame more menus didn't get that for the army pb&j. Actually made the wheat snack bread not only edible, but desirable even

The mre looked great! Except the cola lol. Doesn't matter what brand it is, but "cola flavoured" products whether its drink powder or sweets, all suck the same! Great review :)

When I was in the Air Force, in Saudi Arabia, the tan pachaged MREs were just beginning to make their rounds, and I always still got the BROWN packaged ones. Well, when the MREs would be handed out, I A L W A Y S got that NASTY omlette. I only got good ones (Good, meaning Turkey ala King, and Meatballs with BBQ Sauce) during base exercises.

I never a got a vomlette but the sloppy joes were nasty. I keep the entree in bottom of my hydration pack for an emergency because no way in hell would I eat it in any other circumstances 🤢🤮

When i severed we had some horrid choices... the vegetarian omelet was uneatable.. we had this strange mac and cheese with peas that would glow in the dark almost thats how dayglow yellow it was.

Yeah I donr understand why american and canadian and british made rations are LOADED with chemicals and very cheap needless additions in it, which help it none and just make it even more unhealthy. And I dont wanna know how much of it is GMO food. Rat studies who just ate gmo soy became sterile after several generations

brother u are a little prissy concerning these mre,s. they are made to keep u alive and fighting in combat. Nothing else. u really was hard on the iron ration of the german army in ww2 but it was a no bullshit got the job done ration wich was what the germans were looking for.
