Hint for the cold map - haul the super cold debris out of your base asap. It's pretty impossible to heat it otherwise. You also can do this by digging in proper order and have it fall down. You can get super sustainable on your setup pretty "easy" because there is a lot of water and ice so hydrogen generator is your thing. Though in the same time there is lots of coal you can't use, so it kind of kills the rime experience which has shedload of coal.
@skalvar5 жыл бұрын
How i ended up tackle carnivore were going for a rancher from the get go, don't want luck to determine when you can start ranching. And for super sustainable you can get it long before 365 with nothing but wheels, had the main power grid being run by 15 little hamsters wheels in automated lights in pairs of three and in a decor paradise. Powered as many incubators as i could manage power to. But don't do what i did.. don't forget the hydrogen generator! An self-powered rodrigues or two would speed things up alot! Best of luck and thanks for the frequent updates of good quality content :)

I'd be ok with you using mods as long as they cut the faffing about out eg. finding the right dupes. As for Rime (not Rim :P) it's like a tiny dog - more bark than bite. Being entirely cold means you have a massive heatsink so you never have to worry about it. As you have some water you can still create steam turbines pretty easily while also setting up your metal refineries. I'd wager a few of those will provide nice all around warming for your base with a few heating loops as well as let you melt more of the ice for water and getting you the 200k achievement.
@FrancisJohnYT5 жыл бұрын
I have a problem though. I need heat to melt the ice, that requires power, I can't use fossil fuels and get super sustainable. @Turatle5 жыл бұрын
for warming things up, i just dig for a cool steam vent/steam vent box it in, put in a liquid pump, pump around base, then into electrolyzer for bonus heat, then research metal tiles, when unlocked build 4 metal tiles out of aluminum right above vent, 2 aluminum mechanical doors flat on top, and 4 more aluminum metal tiles on top, and pump all the water into a pool on top of that mechanism, add auto-wire and a thermo sensor when convenient to control the heat of the pool, by the time it goes dormant, you should have been able to find a second one to do the same thing with screw using the tepidizer, it isn't really worth the 1k of power required to run it, you'd need 3 manual generators, or 2 coal/hydrogen generators to power it alone, it's non-effective in the early game where it matters and you don't really got the hydrogen to throw around, especially in francis johns case where he is going for the sustainable achievement which only allows you to use manual, hydrogen, steam, and solar generators, without a cool steam vent, you won't be able to produce enough hydrogen to keep it running consistently, in which case, you don't need it cause you have a cool steam vent to warm a pool of (p/)water to pipe around your base on the flipside, you could happen upon a hydrogen vent to power it, but then, hydrogen vents release hydrogen at like 500C which is more than ample base heating, heck, you could melt all the ice on the map with that, so you don't need the tepidizer, tl;dr: tepidizer is a trap source: currently playing on rime, 100 cycles in, blessed with a local cool steam vent close to the print pod, which provided me enough heat to last it's 50 cycles of dormancy when i finished uncapping it, tried to use tepidizer before taming the steam vent, was stupid idea that failed and ultimately i just tapped the steam vent for my heating
@commonsense-og1gz5 жыл бұрын
@@Turatle using a steam vent is fine if you have one near you, however, the water from a steam vent is not going to beat a tepidizer doing the same action as the vents have a dormancy period, and vents outside of water geysers use gas to heat liquid. a tepidizer directly heats the water rapidly, where gas would have difficulty. as for power, the achievement would be lost, but a petrol generator can run multiple tepidizers, heating a lot more territory than any vent.

Why don't you want to use sage hatches? You can produce a good bit of meat using them by feeding them a small amount of mealwood.
@FrancisJohnYT4 жыл бұрын
Between growing the mealwood and grooming the hatches that is a lot of effort. Sage hatches are great for feeding polluted dirt, they eat 140kg of it and output 140kg of coal. 1 to 1 ratio.

since playing on hardest difficulty i learned that bottomless stomach is realy not a problem. what is 1500cal per day for one duplicant compared to 2000 for every dupliucant. and if they already eat 2000 per day the 500 more from bottomless stomach is managable. So if I can play with dupes that eat 2500cal per day i can play with dupes that eat 1500cal per day easy xD

Steam won’t let me run the save file

You need to put it in your save game folder, usually Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\save_files

I kept failing the Achievements until I deleted the Debug_Enabled file. Mods don't seem to effect Achievements. Mouse over the Green check mark in Achievement checklist for more info. If there is a Red X, you already failed

@@FrancisJohnYT i have started going with a digger, a dig/rancher and a scientist My luck is really awful, i was playing badlands once and I didn't get a ranching duplicant till cycle 60, i usually phase out the digger into ranching and then put the duplicant back into digging when I have a better rancher

Is the coal restriction a research issue, or an achievement issue? I can't figure out why you aren't going to coal generators...
