I'm building one too...(blf188xr) I am putting over current protection along with lots of other protections in it ..I chose the Russian LPF board which is essentially the same as yours.. you are 100% correct ... these will run 1kw SSB forever provided you have a good heatsink with a very good copper spreader, good circuit design and lots of attenuation....and only have a watt or so going into it... push the input higher and you will blow it up... I suspect that even though you tell your buyers only to put the amount of wattage that you've attenuated it for, that some will still have that CB mentality and have to get an extra 200 watts out of it even though at 1k you'd have to triple it to gain any appreciable increase on someone else's s-meter... And they will Blow up the chip...... AM mode really needs to be 1/2-1/3 power of SSB to keep it from getting to hot... I put a temp switch in mine ,so if it gets too hot you'll just be dumping all the power from the radio into the attenuator. Handy thing to do considering how poorly fans are made nowadays.. Awesome linear, Congrats! Just curious, is this the same device that is deemed as 'indestructible?' There was a vid here on yt that showed 1 of those transistors and they threw everything at it and it just kept working. I thought that was amazing! Your thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

Thats correct, Just don't over drive them or draw more current than they are rated for and you will be fine.
